Acer K750 LED/Laser Hybrid - Page 7

David44,
You mentioned you saw no RBE with K750. Are you very sensitive to RBE? Did you see rainbow with other 6x speed color wheel DLP of the similar movie?
Thanks for your feedback

I'm only mildly sensitive to RBE. That opening scene in Casino Royale was one where I saw flashes on my IN83. But I'm not sure what the wheel speed is of the IN83 - I want to say 5x. The K750 does not have a color wheel, so all is good.

yeah they are gonna want a idiotic amount of money for this. lol we shall see.kec8

Thanks David44, You are correct all single chip DLPs with LED/laser lights do not use color wheel but since they are single chip they still need 3 LEDs to alternately turn on/off to create the full color. However, the LEDs can turn on/off much faster than the color wheel. Therefore, the RBE is minimized but not totally eliminated. I am very sensitive to RBE and would like to hear feedbacks from someone with LED projectors on RBE. Thks

My LED/Laser Casio XJ-A230 uses a color wheel. Lots of rainbows.
My LG PA70G doesn't have a color wheel, but still shows some rainbows. I see a lot less if I run it @ 120Hz.

I'm going to throw my K750 up on the classifieds if anyone is interested.

Looks like the price here in Europe has gone down, at least, here in The Netherlands:

http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/334671/acer-k750.html

Awfully tempted to buy one as an upgrade for my K330.

To answer why I'm selling my K750, I was able to get my hands on a DigitalProjection iVision30 1080C. My primary use for this PJ is for travel, and both have a small form factor. The black levels and sharpness on the DP are better than the K750, but the 750 is definitely brighter which is making me wonder about the new bulb I bought for the DP, which is spec'd at 1400 lumens. Of course the DP originally retailed for about 10x the cost of the 750 so it's an apples to oranges comparison, but overall I like the DP a little better. The K750 is still a phenomenal unit for the price considering it has a stable, long life light source.

Looks like the user of the acer have the feel the less color saturation against led proyector 100%
even less pop than lamp proyector some user can confirm that.

Is the feel after read user opinions

even when the saturation in test is about 81%

I have the K750 and in the movie mode with eco enabled it's very quiet and bright enough with reasonable color accuracy. I'm quite happy with it.

Problem is that any tuning changes the mode to "user" with a lot more fan noise. Do others recognize this?

Second question because I can't compare to lamp based projectors. Is the fan noise in standard mode comparable to lamp based projectors?

I don't have the k750 but you are saying than lamp mode eco or normal is not independent of picture setting ?
if you selected user always change de fan speed??

I have this projector in the point of view and I am very interested in all about him.

The eco mode setting is independent of picture setting, so any picture mode is more quiet in eco than in normal.

But my issue is with the combination of movie mode and eco on, this combination is the only one which is whisper quiet. But if I increase for example contrast with 1, the mode changes to user which increases the noise a lot. I contacted Acer support with this question.

they are going to lose market share against the flat panel TVs and Virtual Glasses.

By the way, if anyone wants to access the service menu, combination is: press red power button once, down, up.

Note: use at own risk. Menu contains a couple of test patterns and calibration control, not so many different options than the standard menu.

Some one mess with service menu.

I buy too ,

don't cant wait for pf80g less according to the price range in this moment.

I am happy, colours not quite spectacular comparing with pf70 but the projector is in another level , and either the sharpness not so good like me hc3800 and the bright scenes don't looks superb like hc3800 here is the not good things .

The good I have almost the goods of the two worlds and

the best shadow , night scenes detail than ever seen

I only have two days and not too much time with it , I have to try get better result with not so goods

I know that Kraine measured a very good black level and good shadow details. So, i think my settings must be much more imperfect than Kraines are. Unfortunately i don't have any calibration tools and can only work with movie scenes+test patterns, like Buroschs.

I Don't want to say you miss something but sometimes if the colour range of hdmi is not proper according to source can be a problem

I use in eco mode and I have very good black level and the best shadow detail mixed
I get best day scenes with other projector but not dark scenes

I my settings are film mode right out of the box

and hdmi colour :in limited range

OK, i'll try that.

Jasinto - Greetings! Could you please mention the image size and distance for your set-up? Also, what movie/scene are you using to gauge shadow detail?

So far this little guy is doing its job quite well as our day-to-day TV. I have it displaying a 94-inch image from roughly 11-feet. I use all standard modes, but would love to try Kraine's settings in our 1 user slot.

Also looking forward to Kraine's mini shootout between the K750, Optoma HD91, LG PF-80G, and Vivitek H9080FD. Not sure how the K750 will do against those other models (isn't the Vivitek $12k??), but it will be a good read and hopefully insightful on how best to set-up the Acer.

In any case, it will be the first comparison of its kind (that I know of).
is 115-inch

The typical casino royal train scene and some patrons for black level and contrast .
I am using film mode by the fan mode and tweak settings in bluray but not too much in satellite receptor i can't touch nothing and still very good.

I am impatient too for the shoot-out of kraine will be very usefull if him can see this projectors at the same time.

not very good photographer a not very good camera

Hey, Jasinto, nice pics. Can you post a picture of a really dark scene, starry sky or something like that, please?

The last one is a dark scene good for see blacks and shadow detail.

The picture is little bit burn and looks with more light than really see in person.

Already the standard movie mode setting is ok for me, with screen colour set to grey or black. I prefer the very quiet projector above less colour error. So yes, all the K750 owners unite and ask Acer to change it :)

By the way, do you guys also hear this soft high pitched noise? I wonder if it comes from the phosphor wheel or if my projector has some issue.

Yes I hear like soft rumour jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj (in spanish) biggrin.gif

I see to with select some colour temperature the light pumping in the brighter picture parts .

And change in bright when is selected the deep black control like brightness control with iris

Maybe an overheat issue resp. the heat sensor? I would call the Acer service.
