For the moment it's really a good surprise, the ACER K750 can produce very good blacks without using any artificial device like the D.I., you can fin a dedicate RGB adjustment option in the menu and also a CMS in 3 dimensions (this is a huge improvment after the H9500BD). When you switch on the projector, you are able to have the picture after one second.
Here the first pics of the picture menu, the CMS, and the RGB balance :

k330 vs k750
what can you say ... or compare withe other 1080p PJ HT !!!

THANKS smile.gif

Nice, you are on 666 posts smile.gif
I don't consider the picture quality for the Casios as bad. IMO they display a much better resolution than the diamond pixel 1280x800 projectors out there.
Just the rainbows that are really annoying.

Do you see any on the rainbows on the K750?

things em looking for :

Kraine, thanks for sharing!

Can you tell us if you see rainbows on the K750?
I'm not sensitive to Rainbow effect but I will ask for one of my friend that see them to give me is opinion for the final review.
Looking forward to the review and to see how comparable it is to a lamp based pj. And hopefully it's nice and quiet as well. cool.gif

Kraine, how's the picture quality compared to H9500 ?
For what I have saw for the moment the H9500BD is sharper but the contrast is better on the K750. Both projectors has pros and cons. This K750 is a very good surprise for me especially at 1700 euros but the H9500BD has a general better picture.

Kraine, how is the motion with sports and other fast moving material? Or does the motion only hiccups in a certain type of shot? Thx!

The K750 by its technology is not equipped with a color wheel. This solution is supposed to disappear rainbow effects typical of DLP projectors. Are not sensitive to this defect, we actually help two people who can perceive. Their findings will be included in the test on Tuesday 12 September 2012.

I don't know if the translation is correct, but does this mean that this hybrid does not use a color wheel? Unlike the Casio
If it is true and there are no rainbows noticable then I will definitely get this projector (when it is cheaper) smile.gif

all i came to knew from Kraine review that this pj like low/mid range pj cool.gif
the good point about it :
1- 2k lamp-life
2- high contras
compare to H9500BD in terms of PQ - SHARPNESS - ....est
somehow very close but not better rolleyes.gif

so it's a good move but not quiete there yet !!! ( price of $2,600 ) mad.gif
wait the 2013 pj - looks promising 1080p laser/led tech with high end pj
so i wish the price will be as good as competitive !!
and the 4k res having its own way up .. so 1080p will be mid range class pj NOT to be over priced smile.gif

nah.. 4K UHDTV (2160p) is like the new 720p and 8K UHDTV (4320p) is the new 1080p
I would rather want 7680 × 4320 smile.gif
post #76 of 138
I have invited two friends tonight that are sensitive to rainbow effects and they have seen low rainbow trace on the Acer K750, but not like on lamp based DLP projector. About the avforum review I can't confirm their comment on the contrast, after calibration I have more then 10000:1 contrast ratio with 468 lumens and a 2.3 linear gamma value, you can check the result of my post calibration measurements here :

http://www.audiovideohd.fr/tests/334-Acer-K750-4.html

And the very good black level have been also seen by my two Rainbows searchers wink.gif

Forget 4K: NHK and JVC develop 8K projector
the price no way gonna be easy
so i wait 2020 until things goes cheaper and better biggrin.gif
right now my budget dancing with 1080p laser/led high end one tongue.gif

There already maybe a better alternative available and cheaper at least in the UK market.

Hi Kraine,
for movies, is Acer H9500BD noticeably better than K750?
Hi mishari84 in some points the K750 is better than the H9500BD :

- Contrast
- Noise level
- Size
- Colors accuracy and options in the menus to correct them

But the picture of the H9500 is more punchy and also sharper (thanks to the FI option), this projector is also 3D ready (even if I don't care about 3D wink.gif).

As you can see it's not that easy to answer, I just say that I will keep the K750 for my personnal use and not the H9500BD wink.gif

Hmmm H9500BD was the unit for you not that long ago and that was before the new firmware. Have you managed to test one with the new firmware? Don't get me wrong, I am all about moving away from the old school lamp, just saying.
Hello mike2cents smile.gif No I haven't try the 9500BD with the latest firmware. And second point, I have already moving away from the old school lamp and I won't turn back (I'm only speaking for my personnal use, of course I will continue to write reviews of all the new projetors even those with this damned UHP Lamp biggrin.gif).
Mike2cents and Raine, this comparaison is for you :

ACER H9500BD measurements :

http://www.audiovideohd.fr/tests/313-Acer-H9500BD-5.html

ACER K750 measurements :

http://www.audiovideohd.fr/tests/334-Acer-K750-4.html

The end results is on my opinion better on the K750, even if the GAMUT in the Rec709 color space didn't match with the reference, RGB levels are able to be proper calibrate on the K750, not on the H9500BD wich didn"t have this option same for the CMS with works on the led/laser projector and didn't exist on the H9500BD. The CMS works fine for the luminance on the K750, but is not that accurate with the gamut (but it's working and I was able to correct the green and place it closer inside the CIE chart). My end results specially on the contrast and lightness are much close to the the chinese review then the one from avforum :

http://translate.google.fr/translate?hl=fr&sl=zh-CN&u=http://projector.zol.com.cn/307/3077075.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dacer%2Bk750%26start%3D10%26hl%3Dfr%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26tbo%3Dd%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D644&sa=X&ei=znQJUJSvLIjAhAfUmfTzCQ&ved=0CGMQ7gEwAjgK

My calibration tools are here wink.gif

Logiciel de calibration : Chromapure Pro
Meter : Eye One Pro and Display 3 Pro
Luxmeter : Volcraft 1108

Kraine. I was wondering if you can tell me where the hot air is vented out in this unit? Would be thinking of putting it near-ish to a back wall and I would be hoping that the hot air vent isn't at the back, just in case. I'm actually looking at the Viewsonic model, which seems like a clone of this model. Thx!
