Velodyne SMS-1 RS-232 Help

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this should be posted here or in the remote/automation section. I am trying to control my SMS-1 with RS-232 but I am having no luck. The commands seem very simple but none do anything. Not sure if anyone went thru this already and can give me some pointers.

Trying to control thru RTI XP-6 but to no avail. I am also trying from PC just to confirm that I can get things working. but using a hyperterminal type program, I am sending the commands but ***nothing*** works. wether I query it or send power on off etc

Kinda lost and am willing to bet it is something simple/stupid. If anyone has RS-232 working on the sms-1 I would love to see you exact command and settings.
