This could very well be a dumb question, but I'm a Newb and I'm curious.
Some speakers have their rear panels flush with the unit, while others have their rear panels slightly recessed allowing the top, bottom, and sides to protrude. Would the latter design cause for more resonance than the first?
As I stated, it could be a dumb question. I may be incorrect comparing vibration to heat, but I was thinking if vibration was heat, on a flush box it would dissipate and/or be absorbed more evenly. On a box with a recess it would dissipate and/or be absorbed similarly until it reached the protrusions, at which point absorption would end and any excess would dissipate. Like cooling fins on a heatsink.
