Funai DVD Drives, internal mechanism alignments

Funai service manuals caution "Do Not Touch" the end of the slider found on the side of the DVD Drive just forward of the gears.

The attached photos show a Funai DVD Drive where that slider had been pushed in.

It has fallen to me to "fix" this DVD Drive. I'm having problems realigning the DVD Drive mechanisms. There is also a small white "extra part" seen in the foreground in the first, second and fifth photos. I've yet to find where that "extra part" goes. In the first photo the white part (with a hint of pink) just above and at the left of the turntable seems to be too loose. That part ends just where the teeth of the adjacent slider begins.

I need advice.

I think Jenn at parts@funaiservice.com, tel. 1-614-497-2689 ext. 110 (Columbus OH), might get her tech. to provide some insight or they may have a "service manual" and/or IPB for that model number? Can't hurt to ask?

Mickinct just called me. He helped me locate where the small white so-called "extra part" fits. Unfortunately that "extra part" had been part of the white slider (with a hint of pink) seen in the first photo in the earlier post.

When the slider at the side of the drive was pushed in that portion of the larger part broke off just to the right of the brass screw above and to the left of the turntable as indicated by the pencil in the attached photo. That part is essential for the correct mechanical operation of the DVD Drive.

Thank you Mickinct for your advice!

I am impressed with any analysis of this level of repair. Most service technicians do assembly level swaping at best. Good for you DigaDo and Mickinct.
