The Room Layout from Hell. Speaker Placement Wise

For many years we have used the best speaker placement thought possible. Well, to me the placement is not the best. If you are in the sweet spot it is good. If not then you are out of luck sound wise. Now with a new HDTV on its way I believe it is time to once again tackle my speaker placement dilemma.

I am looking for a most generous soul to provide me suggestions regarding speaker layout and if necessary new type of speakers needed for what is possibly the most challenging task ever. If you are that person please step forward. Tell me what you need to know and I'll provide the information. Believe me when I say me providing a mere list of equipment and room description would be inefficient. If you can succeed in this challenge you indeed are the best.

Thank you.

Hi.......

Pictures of the "Room from Hell" would be very helpful along with height, width, depth. Sealed room or open to other spaces and total cubic footage of all open areas.

Use % like movie, TV, music, and gaming.

Speaker layout... 5.1, 7.1, 7.2, etc....

Do you want bookshelf speakers or towers, (in-walls, in-ceilings: not recommended unless needed for surrounds).

What speakers, subs, and AVR do your currently have? Are you planning on upgrading?

Budget???

Flickhtguru,
Thanks for your offer to help. I will get all you have asked for within the next seven days or sooner if possible. Whatever the outcome I look forward to working with you.

Ethan,
I appreciate the guidance providing by the experts in speaker placement. Unfortunately our room does not conform to any standard shape generally used in placement guides. Even with that said I did learn from the guide.
