I would have watched if they had cast real-life superior-autobiographical-memory possessor Marilu Henner as the lead. She's still well within the attractiveness range required for female TV leads, as well as being the person upon whom the show is loosely based. And she never forgets her lines.

Flubs, maybe. Forgets, never! smile.gif

Afterthought: I've often wondered if she remembers how many pieces of toilet tissue she used during that two-day bout with diarrhea on March 21 & 22, 1973. confused.gif

I saw that '60 Minutes' piece on her a few years ago and she remembers everything! It's a very rare condition. At that time there were only six people documented to have it. The only reason she ended up on '60 Minutes' is because she's buddies with Leslie Stall.

There are savants who can do amazing mental calculations, of course, but Marilu is different. She's "normal", well adjusted, and still pretty hot. She's also been married 3 times. Which kind of figures; who'd want to be married to someone that remembers literally everything you ever said, and when and where you said it? You'd never win an argument. tongue.gif

Yes, I saw the 60 Minutes feature also. I've always liked Marilu from Taxi to Evening Shade and beyond. Yes, she's still very attractive at age 61, but Poppy Montgomery at 38 is, well, hot, hot, and super hot to these tired old eyes.

That's hard to argue and I understand broadcast network casting requirements. But Marilu is one of those women that, like Helen Mirren, looks better than she has any right to at her age. Good genes in many different categories I guess. She might well have improved the performance of this show had she been cast. The curiosity factor alone might have bought a higher initial sampling. I would have tuned in and that's one more!

Excellent points, especially re: Helen Mirren.

Me too!(you post #8, me #11) I'll have to make another Season Pass though.....deleted it after it was cancelled and no way to easily add it back without it being in the guide(which should be ~13 days before it airs again).
Oh and I agree Marilu is very well preserved but Poppy is as has been mentioned, H! H! H! biggrin.gif

Yes, Hellen Mirren has tremendous assets

Marilu was on the show though correct? I think she played someone's mother or aunt? 2 season ago possibly?!?!

And if her middle name isn't Sultry or Smoldering then something's wrong!!! biggrin.gif
post #71 of 88
Yes Marilu played an aunt in a prior season...

Pretty good episode. Never did understand why they pulled this show off the fall schedule.

Nor did I. However, this incarnation seems to have a rougher edge/tone to it.

Well I agree with everyone on this as well. I enjoyed the first season (even tho just watching Poppy Montgomery I sometimes forgot what the plot line was about wink.gif), saw the 60 Minutes interview with Marilu Henner and would not kick either one out biggrin.gif

I think the reboot served to focus the story line on the case of the week. Removing a lot of sub plots, character interaction and viewer investment if it continues. Now I'm not defending their previous story line as it certainly had its issues. And it's only been one episode so I can't really judge. However if each episode stands alone and becomes solve the case I'll lose interest. Rightfully or wrongfully this is the way I see all of the CSI and related shows... I tried to watch them a couple of times and found zero character investment. The case totally drove the episode and after seeing one I have seen them all... no thanks.

I see no difference between this episode and the whole previous season. Aside from occasionally veering off to talk about her sister, it was always a crime of the week show.

Hasn't been much discussion on this one.

Season is over now, and I'm not sure if I liked the cast and situation as well as before. Hard to say really.

I gave up on the show after half of its' first season. However this summer with less competition I resumed watching it and found it satisfying. Hope it is renewed for another summer run.

As I suspected (earlier post) it became even more procedural (for me) and as such my interest waned.

I like it. Hope it gets renewed though I doubt it.

I liked it a lot, which usually means it will not be renewed. I think the changes were an improvement.

I also like it and hope it returns smile.gif

Saw this the other day. We're glad, as we kinda thought it was done. smile.gif

Good return episode, but despite the red herring, I had the real 'bad guy' figured out before the show was halfway over. There were also some minor tweaks to the show including fewer Carrie 'flashbacks,' the limited presence of the amazing Jane Curtin, and the more obvious fondness between Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh.

This is a really good season. It was shown in Spain several months ago. I think you will like the direction it is going.
