There are hills and a two story building at ~36 degrees. I got the popular/cheap antenna from monoprice - it picks up the UHF but not the vhf channels pretty well. What do you recommend that I get? Do I need any gain? Ideally, I would hook up to my existing coax that feed three tvs. Anybody out there live in Redondo?

should work great. It comes with its own small J-mount bracket. Aim it with a compass at 22° magnetic direction.
