No, not blurring. Sparkles (caused by a problem sending the picture through HDMI) are a bit like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFHbMGmu43w
Blurring around a moving image in things such as sports could be caused by
1) It's a normal part of the picture being sent (eg. things blur in motion when recorded by a camera depending on amount of motion, shutter speed, frame rate etc., and the mpeg encoding might also add to it).
2) It might also be part of the TV's picture processing/TV (is the TV doing interpolation/frame insertion?)
Also, about picture quality, are the HDMI output settings set to output in the native resolution of the source? What resolution is the TV receiving? You are watching the HD channels?
