Heelo, I'm new here looking for an Epson 8350. Just saw this pop up at slickdeals.

Anyway Epson has the 8350 refurb for $999-SAV15 coupon code = $849

I don't get Refrubs.. they are used.. why not just buy used, you know the Refurb was used AND Broken..
Or an open box return with bad convergence and was dusted off and called fixed.. Good luck!

I have to disagree. I've never had a problem with a refurb item. They are not the same as open box. They were returned with a problem and Epson repaired them. They come with the same warranty as new, so Epson will repair again if any problems arise. Can you get that with a used projector? No, not unless you fraud them into thinking you are the original owner. On top of that, I haven't seen many 8350 selling used for $850. Most are trying to get $1000 out of them.

Besides, who is to say a new product will perform any better than a repaired product?

Refurbs are one of the few products that actually get looked at by a real human. I dont think they are a bad idea. I tried the coupon code for a few different projectors and it was a no go for me.

No problem. I'm just glad you posted the coupon savings here when you did. I was able to use the 15% savings on one of the elusive refurb 6500UB (they are hardly ever in stock).

Update:
Just received mine today. The focus ring is stuck. bummer. Called Epson. The wait time was too long, so they told me to call tomorrow.

Bummer. I got my 6500ub yesterday as well. Limited testing, but everything seemed to work fine.

Same exact problem here. The focus ring just won't turn. Let me know what they tell you when you reach them.

No Kidding!
My replacement is coming in Tuesday. The ring is really jammed. It took me a total of an hour and a half to get a replacement from them. Most of the time I spent was in a call que.

Which number did you call? The epson store number for returns? Do you think they are sending you a new one?

There should be an Epson Private Line card in your paperwork. That is the quickest way to handle the problem.

Thanks Bill. I did not know that.

@hperry, They are sending a refurb, overnight shipping. Should be here tomorrow. If I need to replace the second one, I'd call the number bill talked about.
I'm unsure how many times I can ship a refurb back.. but I'm going to check it thoroughly. Focus ring should be one of the first things on Epson's QA list.

Update: Got my 2nd refurb today. I probably have bad convergence issues, I'm unsure.
