vx-2c to Vivix II connection

I'm missing the cable to connect between the Vivix II controller to the VX-2C projector. The VX-2C manual speaks of a Runco Proprietary (RP) DVI cable that is to be used for this. Is this really the case or can any DVI cable with the correct sex connection perform here?

I would check with a normal dvi cable that fits ie. dvi-d or dvi-i etc. If it works do not spend the money. If not call Runco direct and ask what will work. They are very nice and helpful. I call randomluy asking questions on different matters and they ALWAYS help and never ask why I did not contact a dealer!

The correct DVI cable does. What I mean by that is there are different standards DVI-I, DVI-D etc. You have to make sure the plug is the same. Remember HDMI is transport protocall, but it uses DVI-D standard for 1.3 and older.

Just because they say it is special does not mean it is. Also just call Runco the tech will tell you if it really is special or not. It maybe special due to the runco repater they offered to help with long cable runs... but if you have a short enough under 30 or 40 feet you do not need the repeater.

Thanks everyone. Runco was very honest and didn't say that only their cable would work. John Zeller from Runco actually answered my question and said I simply need a DVI-D dual link cable to interface between the DHD controller and the PJ.
