Looks like I am late to the party. What a deal !

Someone just reported that Vann's cancelled all $799 orders . . . . What they are calling a "misprint."

Let us know if anyone who actually ordered gets one for $799.

You may want to check the link the cancellations were reported on. I never spoke with Vann's, just what someone reported. And, . . . Your know how reports are, sometimes true or sometimes false.

Even at $1329 ($1299 + $30 shipping) I feel I got an amazing receiver at a bargain basement price. Seems like Denon cannot make enough 4311s to meet the continued demand . . . But they are still manufacturing it. Denon hit a home run with the 4311ci, and at the just a few hundred over $1K, a sceamin' deal. I hope someone does get a $799 deal; we should not even see that until they are discontinued on close out, and maybe not ever then!

I spoke to vanns just a few mins back ... the guy basically just dismissed the $799 price as a misprint. He also mentioned that all the orders placed would be cancelled, and that i didn't miss anything. So ... my search for a hi-endish receiver continues.

A guy at slick deal forum mentioned that his has already shipped.

I have not received a cancellation notice; my CC has been charged and my status shows a UPS tracking number although I have not yet received an email from Vanns that it shipped.

Looks like I am late to the party.

Keep us posted. I Really would like to know whether they (VANNS) actually cancelled the orders as some forum members were informed when they called to order.

That would send them right to the top of my list or asshat companies

Mistakes happen, is it right for them to process your order costing them another $500 over what Electronic Expo been offering? $799 for a $2099 list AVR is just nuts.

"to our valued customers, due to an error on our website we will no longer be able to honor the price for the Denon 4311 listed at $799. We still think it a great value at $1299, and we are sorry for any inconvenience"

Just out of curiousity, did you order it through amazon or directly from Vann's website? My order went through (on their website) but they emailed me and called me Saturday and said it was an "incorrect listing/computer glitch" and said "we will not be fulfilling those placed orders and we cannot sell them for that price either."

I'm curious if those that took advantage of the $799 pricing error have received their items.

I cannot believe it, but Vanns just called me to tell me they've got more in stock and asked if I still wanted one for $799. Of course I said yes and they said they'd ship it out today.

So....I just called audioholics to see if they'd price match the one I already bought from them a week and a half ago. They're supposed to call me back shortly.

I would buy another one for that price and ditch the SC-25 in my living room, lol.

Just called and won't honor that price.

I just got off the phone with a Vanns sales rep and she tells me they do not have them in stock let a lone for that price. kemitchell could you provide a name of the person you spoke with. Man wish i could get it for that price, i would immidietly ditch the Pioneer SC55 which i have in mind.

I would, but I didn't speak with a sales rep. I ordered it online last Friday and it came up as a "preorder". They called me the next day and left a message saying the order was cancelled since they didn't have any. I had also emailed them and they replied back that it was an incorrect listing and it wouldn't be filled. Then out of the blue someone from there called me today, I don't recall their name or even if they told me and they asked if I still wanted it. He said it would be shipping out today from Montana. Sorry, I would have asked but to be honest it kind of caught me off guard when they called...lol.

Just got off the phone again with Audioholics. They said there was no way they could match that price because it's below their cost. They were very friendly about it though and are sending me return authorization info.

I was really hoping they could have price matched and then I would've let someone here have the new one from Vanns for cost but c'est la vie. Sorry guys.

That would have been nice to do. Even at the EE/Audiholics Newegg matching price it's a GREAT deal but at the Vann's price it becomes a once in a blue moon deal.
