80" Sharp TV, Over fireplace, how to lift over 18-20ft

We have a 80'' TV that needs to be hung over fireplace. From floor to location of TV mount will be 18-20 ft (Big fireplace) Any recenmendation on a lift, or do we use 3-4 men to lift TV?

Thanks
Eddie

I am unclear how extra people help... If you need to lift it 18 feet you need 15 foot tall people, which I think don't exist.

You will need at least 2 people and a platform. Maybe 4 people and a platform.

Wow that's a big screen to put that high. Make sure you angle it for best viewing. LED's really should be viewed straight on or you'll lose the blackness and colors will fade with off viewing angles.

I'm assuming that's the only place you can put it, for the best viewing is eye level when sitting down.

You may find your neck starts to let you know how long you've been viewing.

Depending on the weight, four men should do it. I'd suggest having something like a really sturdy table with support under the table for additional support may work. Something the men can get out of each others way on.

Anyway, best of luck with the install and viewing down the road.

Agree with the tilt. I have a 70" tv on a 27 inch stand, and still have to have a 1/2 inch shim under back of stand so tv tilts down a bit for bedtter viewing while seated. As far at lifting that high...2 very tall ladders and 2 steady people to lift tv while going up the ladders.

Besides the fact that you cannot climb a tall ladder with a large TV in your hands, 2 people and two tall ladders is a recipe for disaster.

To the OP: If you're not going to do the right thing and hire a pro with related experience, then you better have 4 men and scaffolding of some sort. One of those 4 men better have a decent idea of what needs to be done, and the other 3 better have steady hands.

You may be able to proceed with 3 men, but it'll require more technique, risk, and perhaps a different type of scaffolding. There are other ways besides scaffolding but you increase your chance of an accident happening.

Good luck and proceed very carefully.

Rent a scissor lift from a tool rental. Half day probably $200

^^^this would be my first choice. If you can't get a lift in the house and have to use scaffolding dry fit the mount to make sure your good, put the display back in the box and pull it up.
