3d Blu-Ray Player Not Detecting 3D Display

Thread Starter
Hello - Having problems with my TV and Blu-ray player being able to talk with each other. I've searched the forum, but haven't been able to locate a solution. I'm trying, for the first time, to watch a 3D movie and am having problems. I have a Mitsubishi WD65835 TV and a Panasonic BDT-310 Blu-ray player. The Blu-ray player says that it can't locate a 3D display (I've turned the 3D on for the TV).

The HDMI ports for the TV lead to: port 1 to my cable box (DirecTV) and port 2 to the blu-ray player's "AVOUT MAIN". The Blu-ray players connected to my receiver via the optical terminal (my HT receiver's a bit old, but works well otherwise).

Any suggestions why the Blu-ray player can't see the TV? Thanks...

You have to put the Panasonic player into the checkerboard 3D mode for it to work with this set. The instructions should be in your Panasonic manual.

I can find no specifications that say that your 5 year old DLP TV is 3D capable. See:
