What 46-55inch plasma would you buy?

I'm going to be buying two tv's together, I can fit a maximum width of 50 inches, so that means I can get a 46-55 inch tv depending on how big the border is.

One will be used in my bedroom, and the other will be used in my family room above a fireplace. I will probably buy two of the same tv's.

Given the 50 inch width, I thing some of the 50-52 inch tv's would fit the space best, still giving me a little room on the wall, but a 55 will fit too.

I will probably go with a Panasonic or Samsung. There are just so many choices in this category it gets confusing. I don't need many features, but is the Samsung 8000 worth the extra money over the 6500? And
What Panasonic TV would you recommend?

I don't know your budget, but generally speaking I'd recommend the 2012 model ST50/ 50 or 55in from Panasonic.

What Panasonic TV would you recommend?

Well it would be impossible to recommend any particular brand/model since we don't know what your detailed requirements are, but the minimum Panasonic i recommend would be the ST50 (followed by the GT50 and VT50), and the minimum Samsung would be the PNE6500 (followed by the PND7000 and PNE8000). The lower models should be good enough for you, unless you find features on the higher models that you want to have.

Oh, and nobody makes a 46" Plasma anymore, and there are no 42 inchers worth owning unless you're broke. The smallest size would be 50"/51" now.

I really have not set a budget. I was looking at the Panasonic GT50, that seems to get better reviews than the ST. Or maybe a Samsung 8000/7000.

The Panasonic line up confuses me, I have a hard time telling what the higer end tv's are.

Thanks for all the info guys!

Both of these tv's are going to be used for watching cable, and a movie once in awhile. I'm getting a bigger tv for my family room.
