Panasonic 65 inch VT50 release date and price? - Page 5

My plan is to buy around November-December and don't want to pay over $3k. I would have no problem paying $2800 in November, even if it eventually went several hundred lower by March-April. I don't want to wait that long!

Has anyone found the VT50 warranty document anywhere? I'm most interested to see if it spells out Panasonic's latest dead/stuck pixel policy. I might risk the Panny online store w/EPP if they consider one defective.

I can confirm cost is actually below that according to my pricing for the time being anyway that could change by the time I actually order it but doubt it....edit: the time I can actually order it. I think they are waiting for physical stock in the warehouse.

Thanks catastrophik. If cost is already down there, we can figure street eventually will be somewhere near that. Seems inevitable.

Also seems like while Panasonic hasn't gone for UPP strictly, they have tried to clamp down a bit on pricing on the high end. We'll see how that works in terms of success. In other words, does anyone credible launch with stock at much less than MSRP.

Anyone have any news or knowledge of arrival of the 65VT50 in Canada? I keep checking and phoning around but nothing other than they are on order. No dates.Thanks

I was told the 14th of may, but to expect seeing it in store a week after that. How much u pay for yours? I got mine for 3849.

Visions, future shop said they would beat the price for 3700 but when I said I'd think about it and just wanted to get two glasses they tried to gouge me for 120 a pair so I just walk out.

I haven't purchased yet but I am purchasing from Visions. I had bought the 65GT30 but returned it without a problem to them so I will go back to Visions to get the 65VT50 as well. They were showing me prices on the Vt when I was buying the Gt30 and I remember them mentioning around $3600 being their "cost" or the lowest they would go so when you are saying $3700-$3800 it sounds about right. Seems like forever for these to hit the shelves.

Thought process help needed:

On a certain website, the 65" GT50 and VT50 are at list price. So the GT is quite expensive, but once one thinks the GT is what one wants, then the VT is acceptably higher: go for the VT. BUT, the ST50 is discounted, so is about 750 less than a GT. I wanna hit the VT button, but that's 1155 higher than the ST. Real money. So if the GT is arguably better than the ST, I'll go for the VT. But if not, perhaps the ST. Does that make sense?

Hard data is not quite in, that is perhaps the problem. OTOH, there is a hole in my TV perch in my basement that needs filling!

Funny story .. Yesterday, the UPS truck pulls into our driveway. My wife looks at me and says "I think the TV has arrived". She runs downstairs, opens the garage doors, starts talking with the Brown guy. "Do you have a Panasonic delivery for us??". "Yes, ma'am". My wife gives me a thumbs up sign. The UPS driver promptly hands her a small box, from Panasonic. IT'S OFFICIAL .. OUR FREE SKYPE CAMERA HAS ARRIVED. Good deal.

Those fortunate enough to have received their 65vt50, before opening would you be so kind to measure the box dimensions. I need to see If this bad boy will fit when I pick it up.

Today's Boston Globe advertises 65VT50 @ Paul's TV. Full msrp of course. Paul's TV in Boston area is located in Jordan's Furniture Stores. A B&M tv store within a furniture store.

The width of the 65" is over 67"? I don't know the measurements but that has to be wrong.

Yes, some here (thanks) and there are offering maybe $100-200 discounts (but most are not). But, until supply catches up with demand and some manufacturer credits start to show up, very few buyers will see a 65vt50 in the $3K +/- range, which is where most expect (want) it to be.

Anyone who ordered from Amazon don't forget you have 14 days from when your item ships to get them to price match. Amazon has already discounted the 65" VT50 about $80. I'm going to wait a few more days until after I get mine to call and have them credit my account

im in the same boat as you im on my second 64 inch e8000 panel and the buzz imo is just unacceptible

im in the process of trying to organise a swap over to a panasonic panel either st50 or vt50 but all the buzz talk is really got me doubting that im gonna get anywhere

are the pannys prone to the buzz also ? as much as the samsungs ?
