Left, Center, Right speaker selection

Hi, I'm in the proccess of purchasing a receiver and front speakers for a home theater setup. My biggest dilemma at this point is finding a set of speakers for the front.

The room is already wired for ceiling speakers as the surrounds, so I just need the left, center, right spreakers. I'm hoping to keep it at $300-400 including a sub.

I'm in Calgary right now, but live on Vancouver Island. When I go back home (which is soon) my option for stores basically narrows down to FS and BB as far as I know (in Nanaimo).

I have limited space at the TV, so the speakers will sit relatively close to the TV, so I'm considering a soundbar, but my Home Theater componenents are in another corner of the room, so I want a receiver with good connections and video transcoding (Only one HDMI cable going to TV, plus speaker wire), which from what I can tell eliminates the soundbar option.

Any input would be much appreciated. Let me know if I should clarify on anything.

Look for a package deal. Onkyo for example sells a Onkyo HT-S7409 5.1-Channel Network A/V Receiver/Speaker Package that you can get for a few hundred. Here's the link.

Thank you for the reply and link, unfortunately I don't get a very good selection of deals here in canada, I ended up getting a Yamaha RX-V807 on sale at FS, and I'm looking at an older (but NIB) set of Jamo A102 HSC 6 speakers.
