Last year I recommended an Insignia NS-51P680 plasma (manufactured by Samsung,a rebadged 51D530) to a friend and helped them set it up. The second day after purchase, the TV turned itself off and never turned back on. Returned it and helped my friend pick out a Panasonic ST30

No, Zenith plasmas sold at Sears are LG sets I believe. Insignia plasmas have been made by Samsung for a while, and the supplier listed in the BB inventory system is SDI (Samsung Display Inc) America. On the back of the sets the sticker states it is manufactured by SDI Mexico. 51" is also a size that only samsung makes. Insignia LCDs on the other hand come from a million different places.
