Okay, please, let's stop the trailers for a trailer s*** right now. Just end it.

By the way, TOTAL RECALL was the most R rated R of all time. How much ya wanna bet this will be PG-13?

Agreed on all levels. Oh, and this POS remake will undoubtably be rated PG13.

I'm fine with the original, thank you very much.

And the Goldsmith score certainly is a masterpiece.

PG-13 means no triple breasted Martian.

Disagreed. Total Recall is the greatest action-sci fi film of all time.

In-fact, it is one of the fastest moving action movies ever made, aside from the Cranks.

I fuggin love Total Recall. It's up there in my book. It takes me away on an atmospheric journey and totally massages me with amazing concepts. It makes me believe that I am leaving to Mars. I want more of it. The score is a masterpiece (similar to Conan). The effects are top notch. The story leaves you on your seat. The ending makes you wonder whether it was a dream or if it really happened. Damn I love this movie.

Too bad this remake will most likely suck. It has so much to live up to that it's already a failure.

I have to agree 100%. I still enjoy the original today, but will still watch the new one.

I'm not gonna write this off just yet (in spite of the fact a re-make was totally unnecessary).

Colin Farrell is a fine actor and could do nothing but add to the movie IMO.

Ha. I never heard any movie starring Ah-nold called a "masterpiece". I guess there's a first time for anything.

Terminator? Terminator 2? Total Recall? Conan? Predator?

I don't think any of the films I've just listed can be any better. Sure, they aren't masterpieces like "Citizen Kane," "2001," or "The Godfather" is to film in general, but they are undeniably masterpieces in their respected genres.

If there is one poster missing from my theater room (aside from Alien), it would have to be Total Recall. Don't believe the bs from the haters in this thread. It's seriously a damn good film.

well... as much as I like the original version, I agree with Lee, it was hardly a masterpiece. To me it was good, but not as good as Fenders says... So yes I'm curious about this new version. There's apparently a great cast involved, Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium...) is among the writers, as for the score Harry Gregson-Williams is in charge and that is a good sign, and finally Len Wiseman already proved to be a decent director. So before calling it a failure or garbage, I'll see it first.

I may be wrong DavidFi but i think you were having a joke with the name Ah-nold?

I'll deny it. Most of the films you listed are schlock, just like Total Recall. Yes, it's a fun movie. Masterpiece? Hardly...

Arnold was/is at his best when he doesn't have to talk much. I mean I like him a lot but let's be honest he's a mediocre actor. Though I remember what Gabriel Byrne said of him in "inside the actors' studio", it was about End Of Days...he praised Schwarzenegger and his dedication to work, he said Arnold was constantly asking him for advice on the set, that "there's something about him, about being a better actor". I liked that. .....Which is different from 'screen presence', and that's his biggest asset... Terminator and Predator are my favorite Arnold films. Total Recall has some embarrassing moments of acting and special effects sorry. I can't qualify Conan, Total Recall or Predator as "masterpieces". The first Terminator maybe, yes.

TOTAL RECALL made gobs of money for a good reason. It was a kick arse sci-fu action fest. It thrilled audiences when released and rightly so. It was a real high moment for Ahnold and his career.
Arnold saved the movie financially, too. It's basically his movie. Not only is it an action fest, but it's an intellectual movie too. Hard to come by.
I love this movie (the original). Right up there with the best of Arnold movies (as mentioned, Predator, the Terminator films, True Lies, etc).

I can tell I'm getting old because most of the remakes coming out today are movies I don't consider to be old enough for a remake. Then I look and they're over 20 years old. Damn....time flies!

I forgot about True Lies! One of his best indeed ...which was a remake by the way
