Looks great! I will definitely put my order in.

Looks like an interesting mix between realtime and old-school cell-based RPGs.

Being that I don't pre-order games anymore I'll wait on reviews for this one.

Cool- Dungeon Master 2012 I spent MAAAANY hours on DM and the sequel (something or other about Chaos) back in the 80's on the ST and Amiga platform. They were so great for their time.

First review

Based on that review I put my pre-order in. I don't normally do that, but it looks to be a good one.

I paid $500 for a 512k ram module for my Amiga so I could play this game in 1990.

Heh. I had an Apple II with a tape drive son. THOSE were the days... (and yes, I had an Amiga 1000 too )

Who are you calling son? You must have been rich, I worked and saved to buy a Commodore 64 and the worlds largest floppy disc drive.

I played lots of those old-school dungeon crawler when I was younger. I will probably pick this game up for nostalgia and tide me over to D3

The game is good and quite addicting.

The game runs great so far, installed and ran for about 15min with no bugs. Trying to finish Drakensang : Phileasson's Secret first ! Didn't realize how long and good DPS was going to be...
I want to play Grimrock , but have to finish.. other...... game .... firsttttt
heh

Grimrock has been good and fairly true to its roots so far (I think I'm on level 4 or something). My only complaint would be that I start feeling queasy if I slide along sideways facing the walls! Very strange. Anyway, I learned quick that you really should turn on V-Sync! My 2600K system with 6970 was burning up - Fans had gone high, temps were way up like I was running a hardcore benchmark and fps was over 200 - well if you don't keep v-sync on, it basically does act like a burn-in benchmark like furmark. So remember that when you're thinking 'how the hell is this basic game rockin my machine?!'

turn on triple-buffering.

Anyone have any opinions on the audio? I'm thinking about buying it and it seems like a good headphone game to play with EAX turned on since the reviews say it feels like you're in a dungeon.

Hey Lex... I think the sound of the game is very good..., no music just the sounds of a dungeon, screaming, footsteps, cries of monsters ,
I don't know if it supports eax, but I have a sb live card running 5.1 and it's very immersive to say the least.
For the price it's well worth it, not unless you don't like puzzles...

EAX works in anything if you turn it on, even under Vista and 7 it still works perfectly in every game I have played that used it in XP, and in this case, EAX has a preset or two that should work perfectly for Grimrock so I'm thinking it would be great to give it a shot.
