XP Scroll Bar Projection question?

Does anybody know of a windows program that changes the actually colors of the MS windows scroll bars? I have my Projector connected to my HTPC and use VLC media player a lot and the scroll bars on the right and bottom of the page are sometimes a real pain in the rear to see. You can go into the settings and make them wider but the light blue/gray color seems to be the only option and it blends with the white back ground when I open up a folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks In Advance

Bohanna

P.S I hope I am posting this in the correct forum

Try this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/35...ckground-color

Alternatively, you can use a media center like XBMC which will really turn your PC into a very professional and clean looking media center from which to play your music, movies, show pictures, and other cool stuff. I use XBMC on my media PC exclusively and it's truly beautiful. (BTW, it's free!)

Thanks will give it try. If anybody has any other suggestions PLEASE chime in. I suspect that there are a lot of us P2P folks who watch videos through their HTPC/computer/projector set ups.

From what I read last night, you can theme Windows XP and that will give you different color scroll bars, but you have to pay for software that will theme it as XP will only load the three stock themes.

I have a Linux-based HTPC as my main and only source going to my projector and XBMC is my media center. I watch movies, online vids, Hulu, listen to music, and other things through it. XBMC is really nice and well written software. Give it a shot! It'll will play most anything VLC will as well.

Thanks shane I tried the xbmc program but it is not for me. There are way to many steps and blind substeps for my needs. I generally use an external hard drive with files downloaded from Emule in the Divx and Mpeg 4 format. It opens just like a regular windows disk and I have all the folders with different seasons and the episodes of a series. To get to them I have to scroll down to get to a folder. I open it and then have to scroll down to the episode/file I want to see. The trouble is the standard windows scroll bars are hard as hell to see when projected and I am not vision - impared. If I could change the bar to say Black or red I would stand out but somehow the AS-S holes at the Gates factory won't allow me to change the f'n color!! I can change the with of the bars but it's color windows are F'n Disabled. If I appear P-I-S-S-ED off its because this is a stupid little issue that one would think that they would have solved from windows-98- on.
Thanks for your help.

I hear ya on the frustration with the Gates empire. One of the many reasons I choose Linux.

Have a look at this and see if it works for you:

FYI folks,, I got my hands on a program called "windowblinds" and so far it seems to be working out pretty well. It has many skins/themes that have more pronounced scroll-bars. So far I haven't found a way to just change the color of the scroll bars but it is far and above the standard XP scroll-bars,, which suck. I just hope it doesn't screw up some of my other settings.
