15ft Component cable VS Component to HDMI converter

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have an xbox that i have XBMC on and need to feed it to my TV which is about 11-12ft away and want to have the very lowest ghosting possible. Should i use a well shielded 15ft component cable or just use an extremely short component cable and connect to a HDMI converter?

At 15' just about any component cable will do just fine and you'll avoid any potential format conversion or HDMI handshaking issues that might be introduced by a convertor.
