Hi,

Im going to be buying a TV for my house. The TV i buy will be without warranty as im buying it from another country. The prices are in my country are double then what you guys pay for it in USA. So will be buying my TV from HK/Thailand since im going there for a vacation anyways.

Im looking to buy the D6000/7000 of Samsung. Now i hear there are a lot of issues with samsungs and since im buying a TV from another country, i wont get any service for it in my country if its faulty.

So should i still go with Samsung or should i go for a Sony/LG?

If you are going to buy a TV without warranty, I would consider Sharp or Panasonic brand.

samsung is your best bet. Panasonic had so so many issues in 2011 that without a warranty your be really out on a limb. The samsung d8000 was a great set, I owned one. Also, samsung had no issue with ir or burn in, there have been many reports of ir and burn in on the 2011 panasonics.

god bless

I have had my Samsung LED for 2 a little over 2 years without problems. However, I have seen many people who have had problems with their Samsungs.

If I were you, I would go with Samsung or LG. If possible, I would look into getting a warranty through Squaretrade, as they are quite cheap.

As far as TV's go, IMO the best LCD's right now are the edgelit Samsung ES8000 and the backlit LG LM9600. Both sets have local dimming (the LG has true backlit local dimming), 3D and a dual core chip for a smoother smart TV experience.
