Hello,

I have an epson eh-tw6000, your epson 3010, I think. i have a problem, when it is working an hour past, screen turns to black, if i try to select menu in the remote control, it does not appear the menu screen...when it pass 20 seconds aprox. , it shows the image again...
Does anyone has the same problem??

Some people report a similar problem, although they tend to get a blue screen rather than black. It seems to be a loss of HDMI handshake. Usually fixed by using your remote to switch the projector to a different input - say HDMI2 - and then switch back to the input you want (usually HDMI1). Usually then it stays stable for a good while.

If that is not it, then it might be a loose connection of the HDMI cable, so make sure it is plugged tight at both ends.

A loose HDMI cable could do it, but otherwise don't know how it's caused and don't think there is any 3010 config setting to prevent it. But switching from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and then back again usually fixes it for the rest of the day, or even longer.

Maybe just maybe setting the receiver to pass through HDMI rather than up scaling, or some other setting in your receiver, if you are using one. But not any setting in the 3010 itself, probably. I had to fight with this problem a little with my 3010, but have not had any problem for weeks now.

When you talk about receiver...what do you mean?

My connection is multimedia player > yamaha rx-v671 >splitter hdmi > epson eh-tw6000 (HDMI2).

Now epson has 90h working, and till 85 approx. I did not have any problem... if multimedia player could have some problems...could it cause the black screen??

It could be what you say...but...why does remote do not work???...I think that if it would be handshake problem, remote control should work...or not??

I have the exact same problem since day one of having this projector.

What i've noticed is that the projector will turn black on certain commands. Black screens only happen when using the PC. Sattelite TV doesnt cause the black screens.

The black screens are not random and occurs when the following is done (for me) :

1) Opening chrome/firefox/IE/any browser and logging in to my.asus.com website and scrolling down slightly.
2) a few other websites would cause the issue.
3) Screen tearing is seen (line accross the browser window and the black screen follows soon after.
4) closing the window or scrolling back up to "safe areas" allows the image to reappear.
5) black screens remain as long as the "non safe areas" are present. (ie: if the my.asus.com website is left on for an hour, the black screen will be there for an hour.
6) Whenever these black screens occur, the remote does not work.

Help!

I still think it is handshake problem...do you have any switch or splitter or av amplifier??

Since I use a special order to start projector, splitter, amplifier and av source, I do not have problems.

My PC connects directly to the projector.

I've tried and it doesn't matter whether the PC is switched on first or the projector. The problem occurs when a certain font size is displayed. Zooming in/out or exiting a particular window (chrome/IE/ffox) during a black screen lock up will fix it / trigger it. I've got my issue nailed down after about a month of trial and error. The projector is the issue.
