When reality is, its not always the best overall way to buy. You are basically placing all your eggs in one basket, hoping everything goes right. And something so minute as a lazy UPS driver can ruin your entire "special" day. Trust, I've had it happen to me with the original Black Ops. I took half a day off work, and watched out my window.. as the UPS driver did not attempt to deliver my package.. SHE simply left a yellow sticker on the front door of my building. I was home the entire time.
I knew I wanted this game as soon as possible and I knew I wanted guaranteed delivery. Which mean I got my azz up at 11:45pm.. and drove to the local best buy. Line was long as hell, so I went to the local Gamestop.. who had no one in line. Took me 2 mins to purchase the game and walk out the store with a copy in my hand (half of the time in the store, was Gamestop sales pressure to buy shyt I didnt need). In addition to that.. I've also ordered a 2nd copy of the game from MSstore. I had a $25 GC to use, so the game was only $35 with free shipping. It also came with an additional $10 GC and 1600points. I'll probably use the $10 GC to buy more points.. which gives me about 2500 "bonus" perks to use on future BLOPS2 DLC. Even better I can sell the 2nd Nuketown code on Ebay for extra bucks later down the line.
Long story short.. when you absolutely have to have it. Take your azz to the store. When you want to save money or get the best deal.. turn on the computer.
So you wont be telling stories of chasing the UPS driver down the road today?

Lizard I can almost guarantee you that if you go buy it in the store right now the Nuketown code will be in the case. Just go to any box store and grab it. You will be fine.

Greg

EDIT - hurting like hell today at the office. Was up til 3:30 playing with some of you and I am feeling now.

That's why I never trade in at GS, they suck. It's also why I always trade in COD a week or two before the next one comes out. I got $30 for MW3 from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago.

Go to Best Buy. They have an extra 100% credit deal going. Listed at $10 right now so you would get $20.

I am happy to say that no UPS driver will be threaten by me.. today atleast.. and my toys will remain unloaded & locked in the safe.

I'm still pissed over that botched delivery attempt 2 years ago.

eBay. Basically just paid for my season pass, especially if the avatar junk sells.

Now just need to find something to do with this extra copy. tongue.gif

Ok so I'm picking up my copy on the way home from work.... psyched! My gamertag is: sixsec assassin if some of you guys don't have it. I suck pretty bad but I might be worth a few laughs. See you online tonight, as long as the servers don't catch on fire

Stupid question alert.

I'm not a big online multiplayer person, mostly because I don't have the time to dedicate to it and I suck. biggrin.gif

What I do like is the two-player coop missions like COD MW2 and MW3 have. I play these with my brother and we both enjoy this type of gameplay. I was dissapointed when the first Black Ops came out and didn't have this type of mode so we mostly played private matches with bots just so we could kind of coop together. Is it safe to asume that Black Ops 2 works the same way? If so, I will probably sit this one out or just rent it later on, long enough to play the campaign story mode.

So far I'm very pleased with how much variety there is in the guns. That was a huge downer in blops 1, where everything felt the same.

You said it, bro. These maps are MILES ahead of the last edition!

Soooo true. I buy most of my stuff(besides perishable groceries) from Amazon, and I've no complaints. As a Prime member, I can say their service is phenomenal. However, GameStop is where I make the exception. With releases this big, something's bound to go wrong somewhere w/ online retailers.

I bought it through Best Buy. I went to the Midnight release in Durham, NC. Not a single person on line. I walked in at 11:52 and watched a couple of people playing it for a few minutes. I was first in line for the pre-order pick ups. smile.gif The guy goes to ring me up and even after looking at my receipt hands me the regular version. Excuse me, but I will take the Hardened Edition like it says on receipt. biggrin.gif

A couple of questions about the maps:

1- Are they mostly large, medium or small sized?
2- How complex is each map? i.e are the layouts simple or there are a ton of corners and lots of **** to hide behind/under?

My cousin and I have been playing in my living rom for about 2 hours now and both of us really like the game. It is not what either of us were expecting. We both expected it to play like blops and it does not (in my opinion). Far better graphics smoother action feel and not as many WTF monuments I am taking a break to eat and clean the house some before the wifey comes home. She was pissed that I am off and she has to work.

What pre-order codes? I thought the Nuketown 2025 is one of the things you get, but you can't get the code until you get the game. And it was only released today, the 13th of November.

It doesn't have SpecOps (like MW2/3) but it does have Zombies. Also the bots now work in all modes except SnD and party games.

Yeah...I was confused, it even says on the box Nuketown 2025 code included.

So if anyone wants Nuketown without the pre-order, pick-up a copy Today.....

I had trouble with the GameStop pre-order bonuses....

The type 25 is very good. Other than the m27, I like them all, all have their strengths and weaknesses.
