So you've never had the enemy spawn behind you on either of those maps? I must just have rotten luck, it happens to me all the time. In fact, of any CoD game to date, I have been shot in the back more in this one. I don't mind losing face to face gunfights, I do take umbrage to people spawning behind me or spawning very close to me after I have killed them, and popping back up 15 seconds later to shoot me.

Oh, I definitely have, but I don't think any more than any of the other maps. I like Hijacked just for how it plays, but then again I also enjoyed Wet Work. Again, I think what I like most about Carrier is the openness. As much trouble as I have with the spawns, I seem to get killed a lot more when entering a building and having to guess from which of the 7 other entry points the next enemy will appear.

You must have the worst luck ever. You get spawn trapped and have enemies spawn behind you. LOL


The only map I don't care for is Plaza. I still have not figured that map out at all. I never seem to do well on that one. On Carrier, rotate between the stairs by the Stealth Bomber and through the long lower hallway. You will constantly flank the other team. Never, ever go in the middle of that map.

Not an insult, but you might be the first person I have ever known that liked WetWork. Your final comment is kinda the point I am making though, the game shouldn't be about guessing which door someone runs through, no skill is involved there, and success shouldn't depend on being in a certain point at a given time, 50% of the engagements. This speaks volumes as to the mindset they have about the "tacticalness" of their game. They don't seem to care, they want SURPRISES to trump planning and teamwork in my opinion.

Only get spawn trapped on Hijack, which may be the only map that is possible on. I think you know that. wink.gif . Carrier is a map I don't like because it is so sniper laden that it ruins the combat. No fun when each team ends up with 2-3 snipers and it's "ping ping" all over the place the entire map.

The only time I ever have that happen naturally is on hijacked, and its those two zones at the very ends where it really happens, especially in FFA.

I do that all the damn time to people with my tac insert though. I don't play much TDM though, so I'm rarely playing so conservatively than anyone can sneak up on me.

One of my favorite parts of it is the way they set up the scorestreaks....I'm actually getting pretty high level stuff very frequently from being super aggressive about PTFO. If you charge a B flag, you get +200 for every kill while capping, +200 for the cap, and +125 for every defend. . You could score a UAV with just one kill and a cap, get some turrets going. The guy hanging back gets diddly.

It's why each game isn't dominated by high killstreaks, a huge change for the better. In the 50ish hours I've played, I've seen one VTOL, one swarm, one lodestar, and one K9.

I'm sure it happened but it seems hard to believe on Hijacked. That map is the only one I really notice guys being spawned behind me. I have been behind the barrels on the corners of the cabin, which isn't very far from the end of the boat and guys have spawned behind me.

On Carrier, if you stick to the route I mentioned, you will constantly flank the snipers. They pretty much stick to those angled walls and on top of the planes on the opposite side.

I'm at almost 29 hrs, I have yet to see anyone earn a Swarm, dogs, Vtol, or Lodestar. I have never even seen the Swarm or Lodestar and the VTOL and dogs were from a care package.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen any of those not from a package. They're basically unattainable - you need to play conservative not to die, but then playing that way doesn't get you enough points. You basically need to be on a crazy run, while playing the objective....it's just incredibly difficult to do.

I think the streaks are functionally where they should be, but the values need a little tweaking. Lightning strike and guardian are too easy to get, for how effective they are. CUAV and EMP too difficult.

I wish they would make CUAV and UAV the same point level. That way you can have a counter for the UAV spamming....there are a lot.

Call him the connection god, but buc gets Lodestars about every game he had it equipped and he also had multiple VTOL's and dogs. I think the only one he hasn't gotten was a swarm. So it's definitely possible. I can barely get a UAV! rolleyes.gif

Sorry for the rant, just wanted to get this stuff off my chest.

I don't often agree with jblank, but I said this elsewhere too. This game feels way too much like MW2 with the constant quickscoping and commando knifers everywhere. It's pretty rare to find a game without one or both and it's so incredibly annoying. The really, really frustrating thing is that Black Ops seemed to have corrected both of those. It's as if they got a 12 year old on their design team for this round. It's a huge step in the wrong direction.

Also, I agree on the map design. It is, for the most part, terrible. I've gotten to the point where there's only maybe 3 or 4 maps that I can't stand but none of them are great. There are just too many openings and random alleys. I'm not sure how having that many entrances to any given building is more realistic either. How many times in real life is the point of entry going to be a side window? tongue.gif Anyway, Slums and Raid seem to be the least offensive. Hijacked could be a great map but the spawns are just totally screwed up. You can be pushing to the b-flag, sort of in the hot tub area from the A spawn and people will spawn behind you. It's ridiculous.

From this point on I'd be ok if you refer to me as Connection God. smile.gif But you are right I've never gotten swarm. I've always forgot about it and by the time I remember I have it unlocked I''m already prestiging. Annoying how most of the good killstreaks are such high unlocks.

All that sounds good to me. As it is right now though, I'm hard pressed to ever use it, or even recommend it, so I just take my ol' trusty "Stinger-clone" as my secondary and shoot stuff down when I see 'em. Always been of the mindset that if it flies, it dies.

You almost have to run ghost when playing solo, the UAV's are almost constant and the spawns are so bad by the time you've taken one of 3 down someone has spawned behind you or ice skated across the map to stab you.

I'm playing late last night and looking at how far I still have to go in only my 2nd prestige and starting debating if I want to prestige again. I'm just in a rut and irritated with the same things others are griping about. I really hope we get some patches to balance things out. The sniping I can live with, I just snipe them back but the runners, QS, and spawns need work and absolutely feel MW2ish which sucks.

I agree on the run stabbers, they are annoying but it's not even close to the MW2 Stabby Dans. The Stab animation and lunge distance is definitely reduced in BO2. I can honestly say I am not sure if I have ever been QS'd in BO2. If I have, I'm sure it has been less than I can count on one hand.

Yeah this is pissing me off!!!! One of the tweets said to shoot them in the head... Im like:eek: WTF!!!! mad.gif How? They come at you so dang fast I can't bring my sights up that dang fast.

Edit: I still think that they should somehow disable the ability to knife someone if you are hit. It can't be that hard. Then give more points for stabbing someone.

Well thank God I'm not alone. I mean, first couple of days, maybe I was just in love with the "newness" of the game, but it has some serious warts and I'm starting to think it's not going to hold my attention nearly as long as MW3 did (I Prestiged 6 times in that game and haven't done it once in BLOPS II). Like you, the running stabbing crap and the spawns are just killing me right now and it sucks the fun out of the game. Glad we can all just talk about the game because agree with me or not, we all love FPS in here and want nothing but for BLOPS II to be awesome for everyone.
