Because you don't have to reload as often, and every time you see an enemy, you can unload w/o worrying about reloading/running dry/using a point for extended mag. While they're trying to reload from that 1st exchange(which happens a lot), you're still suppressing/killing. I use the MK48 and CONSISTENTLY get headshots/long range kills w/ a dot sight. For mobility, I use my secondary when going from place to place.
The LMGs are definitely better than most people realize. They pair especially well with a target finder, since you're more likely to be able to kill that little red diamond in the distance.
Even with quickdraw they're still too slow compared to other weapons to react, even with all those points into them. And in most situations that Id want an LMG, I almost invariably want flak jacket. So lightweight would cost another 2 points. Having a tac insert removes the need to sprint, so then I can safely carry a launcher, but then I want fast hands, etc...
I didn't really like pick 10 at first....my initial misgivings were that a pistol or concussion would never be worth the point, but their answer to that was to just make them so they were. You even slightly graze someone with a stun and they're screwed for 5 full seconds. You can down someone with a pistol or machine pistol in extreme CQB faster than any SMG. There's nothing that doesn't justify it's point, when used in the right situation. Some of the perks are a little *too* situational though.
Despite the consistent beatdowns we took last night, I just can't get mad at this game. They've done 10 things right for every 1 thing wrong.
