Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Page 61

I've slowed my game down from Run n Gun to Jog n Gun. It has helped alot in Blops 2.

J, you definitely need to take a few days off from COD. You are raging on forums, that's not good. biggrin.gif A video game should not have that effect on anyone.
Nah, I'm good, just needed to vent to my friends on here. smile.gif
post #1803 of 4670
I need a few days off myself. Caught myself screaming at my screen cause a few idiot pubs were dragging my ranking down. There's no doubt it can be a stressful game if you're constantly catching a beatdown.
I really can't complain about the map designs. I'm actually better at this COD than any of the others and I've been playing since Modern Warfare 1. My K/D and accuracy get better with each COD that comes out. I have not ran into many pistol primary runners either. But it does seem like there is a host migration every other match. Ugh.

Like most people the only thing I can really complain about is the lag...

Oh and the fact that J4mmy won't add me as a friend. frown.gif

I am frustrated with the sniping in this game. i was playing a match on nuketown and was sniping, I was laying on the ground, saw some guy kneel down to cover an area so I thought, great, I will snipe him, took a bead on him and then another player on the other team ran in front of my field of view and my weapon automatically tracked him and pulled to the right a good 3 inches in my field of view. I couldn't believe it, then it happened about 4 more times. Way to frustrating.

I really like the maps, too. This game isn't nearly as frustrating as MW3 was for me, so while I don't like the quickscoping and the lag-knifing pisses me off, I can't really complain. I would like some bigger maps, though.

You need to play with us more before Jammy will add you, there's a vetting process, he's like the Godfather. You scratch his back and he, well, that's it, you scratch his back... you'll know when you've been accepted tongue.gif

You mean that reach around wasn't part of the process? I've been hoodwinked! There's nothing I hate worse than having to spit in my hand.

My cure for the stress this game can sometimes bring me is to only play 1hour - 1:15 per night (that my wife allows smile.gif) Seems to help actually. Playing MW3 for 3 hours on a Saturday night would make me want to kick the dog, break the controller, throw the disc in the wood stove and slit my wrists. In that order....

Rationing myself on BLOPS 2 seems to have helped.

He's a master of deception. You don't even realize that you've done all the work (with no reciprocation) until the deed is done. By then it's too late, you've been Jam'd.

Sigh..... I sure wish there was a swell group of guys that I could join their BLOPS2 party... Playing solo is just no fun... Sigh..

We could always start our own group, the "Forever Alone Group Superstars".... That acronym / clan tag alone is worth gold...

You can turn "aim assist" off to fix that problem if it annoys you frequently.

Catching up on the last few pages it seems a lot more of you AVS'ers are growing tired/impatient with the constant BS this game provides (I'll still stand by my previous comment that this game is actually worse than MW3 as far as lag/spawning issues go). I'll also add that some of you (if you haven't) that are looking for that "realism" part of a game, should honestly go try BF3. As that game does basically the exact opposite of being a cartoon (huge maps, spawn on teammates, nowhere near the lag issues, dedicated servers, actual bullet trajectory meaning not every gun is a freaking laser beam across the map, blowing up buildings, vehicles, etc.).

Until most of the core that plays on a nightly basis (Chalup) moves over, these issues that seem to plague every COD game will always be a factor.

Jammy brought this up last year when MW3 came out (and even provided a link to the article), that when the new consoles come out the BF series should be top dog. Due to their existing back-end being able to handle the newer, more powerful gaming consoles (BF is built for PC gaming, whereas COD really isn't). The Frostbite engine gives them a huge advantage with these new consoles...so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
yeah with BF i never had the lag issues and just about everytime i got killed, it was because i deserved it.. yesterday was probably the most frustrating day, there were a couple of times i saw the guy in front of me get killed, i know the guy is around the corner, he doesn't know i am there (i am running ghost and looking at the replay you can tell he didn't know), yet he ends up killing me?? also i was running the 870 and numerous times from less than 5 feet i don't kill the guy when i shoot?? the bad thing is, i like the maps, like the pick 10, like the game for the most part, and it is really fun when you are on the right end of lag, but everything is extreme, i am either 9-20 or 25-6...

I actually put MW3 back in last night and enjoyed it more... that just shouldn't happen.

My biggest issue with BLOPS2 is that I don't have fun playing solo on these maps because of the map design and spawns. Random teammates running around makes it really hard to hold your own because the game plays so much faster combined with small maps with multiple entrances. Its almost impossible to defend an area or even cover teammates in this game because of the tight maps.

I find myself having fun playing with people on my friends list, but if I can't get into a party, I will log off and go do something else unlike other COD games where I wouldn't mind playing solo until a party spot opened up.

Screw BF3.

Despite the issues this game has with lag at times I still think it's better than MW3. I'm hoping with the next title update they can address the lag. We already know they plan to increase the points it requires for a UAV so the UAV spam might be lessened slightly.

Also if they can release some really good maps as part of the first DLC that will be huge. I like a lot of the maps now for the most part but not as much as I loved the blops 1 maps.

Even when I'm frustrated it's solely because of lag, if they fix that 95% of my issues with this game are resolved.

BF would play a *lot* better at 60fps on next gen consoles, but then that basically brings them up to par with where cod has been for the last 6-7 years. If I had the choice now I'd dump as much eye candy as necessary to get there now, but they're insistent on putting presentation first and gameplay second.

If BF was going to take over purely on the basis of tech, they'd probably have already done it. People might buy a game purely on looks, but they won't keep playing it. The first iteration of BF or whatever frostbite game they put out might look better than the next cod, and finally run as well, but I don't think that gets them very far. And activision would really have to drop the ball to not have a next gen engine in development. Just cause we haven't seen it yet doesn't mean it isn't being done.

Hopefully they'll all just settle on 60fps across the board next gen, and then I don't really care what it looks like. tongue.gif

I have BF3 on the PC and ya wanna know what the biggest complaint I hear is (it's my complaint too)? BF3 is too damn complex. I admit, I don't play it a lot, but part of the reason for that is I don't know what the hell to do, there isn't a lot of feedback, and the customization of things is just way too daunting and intimidating. If Battlefield games could incorporate the more easy to use weapon/kit customization that CoD has, I would love it.

So, you want cod to be more like BF, and BF to be more like cod?

Is a double XP weekend coming up anytime soon? I haven't touched BlackOps2 since Thanksgiving. A doubleXP weekend will give me the incentive to play it. Or some new MP maps.

No, no, no, what I am saying is that if both games would incorporate the areas the other does correctly, you'd have an incredible game. I suppose it's a bit difficult to explain, but I think each game does some things incredibly well that the other is maybe a bit deficient at, and they both should look at where the other excels.

Not that I have heard. I heard a rumor before the game came out that there would be one per month, but I doubt that happens.

I agree with this completely. I'm certainly not trying to argue with anyone else's issues on here, because I'm certainly not an expert, have only been playing since MW2, and my KDR is usually just below 1; however, I notice that I'm doing much better with BLOPS 2 than in the others that I've played. In MW3 I pretty much just used SMGs and played really fast. In BLOPS 2, I notice that if I slow down just a bit and use an AR, that I do much better. Also, the lag has only seemed to be an issue with me when I have my search preferences set to anything but "Best". I tried League Play and Zombies just to get some achievements, and I had to set it to "Normal" just to get into a match. I found that I was losing probably 90% of 1-on-1 battles. At the time, I felt that I had never hated a game so much. Since I've gotten out of League Play and Zombies, I have my search preferences back to "Best", and I really feel like I'm doing much better and I feel like it's much more balanced. I have a decent/solid cable connection, so I don't know how much lag comp. is affecting me...but again, I don't claim to be an expert on the subject.

As for the other issues, I think I just got used to them. I wasn't crazy about the Pick 10 system or the Scorestreaks at first, but they're growing on me. The maps are okay so far, but I always forget that until more DLC is available, the maps are just so-so. Right now, I just don't like Plaza. Also, I really don't like what they did to Domination.

As for the realism...well...I had BF3 for another console, and I just couldn't get into it. I guess I just didn't have the patience for it...which is part of what I like about CoD...I can just get started and go.
