I def notice a lot more host migrations, but that's probably one of the ways they're trying to improve overall connections. The threshold to trigger one is probably lower than in past games.

I just wish they could speed the process way up, still takes too damn long. Feels like I'm playing skyrim with all these epic load screens.

The above thoughts were my exact MW3 experience. That game infuriated me - it is a wonder that I managed to ship the game to Amazon before snapping the disc in half. Different strokes...

That's now a legitimate place to call stuff in with the Black Hat. Haven't tried a care package out of the map yet, hopefully that'll work too.

Yep, with the black hat even off the map works if it is close enough. I had a match where an enemy care package bounced off the map, outside the garage on Raid and down the hill, and I was still able to steal it with my black hat.

Re-read the old threads here.
Every COD game had lag issues after release.
MW2 didn't get fixed for almost 3 months.
Black Ops took at least a month.
MW3 took at least a month until they made the first adjustment to the netcode.

BTW - why don't you play BF3? Sounds like more your style.
It doesn't have the lag issues because it uses dedicated servers. In that regard it is a much more satisfying game than any of the COD titles.
My guess is that you'd be very happy with it if you can manage to get over the initial shock that comes when having to adjust your play style to a new game,

COD4 didnt have any complaints that I remember.

Still the best game EVER!)!@!!!1111!! smile.gif

Well, I have to agree w/ the host migration complaints. It happens too often, and is getting really old. Having said that, I'm really liking this version so far. Knee-jerk accusations of fanboyism to follow soon...eek.gif

The big question is how many times does it migrate the host without anyone leaving? If it happens 95+% of the time because someone leaves, then that's not the game's fault.

I would say it is for host disadvantage lag comp wink.gif Why are so many people quitting? Rather than have his 4.0 GPA redistributed to the lesser students he just leaves the class, until the professor can get a clue and stop effing up the works.

Added support for posting Live Stream URLs to Twitter.
Improved audio/rumble responsiveness when hitting enemies with gunfire.
Improved overall communication of Double XP when enabled.
AAR better communicates how much XP was earned in each match.
Added the ability to "View League Teams" from any player's Playercard.
Added the ability to “View Playercard” from League solo leaderboards.

Issues Addressed

Fixed a rare hang (“Awaiting Textures”) upon loading into maps when joining a session in progress after fresh boot.
Game now resets the Care Package for a non-owner if the owner re-rolls the package using the Engineer perk.
Players with Black Hat PDA can no longer hack a Care Package faster than the owner can capture it.
Addressed an exploit where modified console hackers could maliciously spread infected films to other users.
Added a fail-safe to prevent spawn trapping in CTF.
Increased sight checks on turrets to improve spawning algorithms.
Fixed a number of new UI error messages reported by users.
Addressed a number of issues that would cause friendly/enemy color indicators on equipment and scorestreaks to display as the wrong team.
Improved overall Theater and Live Streaming stability.
Improved film rendering stability and made progression bar more accurate while rendering a film.
Addressed issues which prevented some master challenges from being completed.
Precision challenge “Wet Work” will now unlock with 10 kills.
The wins challenge will now account for all FFA modes when ending a match with a tie (if you are in the top 3).
Players that help with the “Synchronized Attack” challenge now get credit for it.
Players will not be able to manually take control of their AGR if they die at the exact moment that their AGR deploys.
Emblem Editor no longer closes the current emblem when discarding changes.
Players using Ghost will no longer be invisible at all times in Custom Games with the mini-map option set to “constant”.
Players using Ghost and a Suppressor attachment will no longer appear on the enemy’s minimap while shooting and moving while a UAV is up.
The median for the K/D graph in the AAR is set to 1.0 instead of 0.0.
Players can no longer get on top of the shrubs in Nuketown 2025.
Thermal vision overlay no longer appears using the VTOL glitch.
Kills from the explosion on the explosive crossbow bolt now count towards challenges.
Counter UAV no longer remains for the rest of the game after a host migration.
Clan tag is no longer locked immediately after prestige.
Offline profiles can no longer be exploited to join online games when an online profile is also signed in.
Multi-team games no longer count as a tie if an entire team quits.
Fixed an area in Express where K9 Unit dogs could get stuck.
EMP grenades no longer affect the CODcaster HUD.
Party Privacy count no longer affects how many bots will spawn in Combat Training.
Shadows seen through sniper scopes now render more correctly.
Players can no longer stand on invisible collision in Carrier.
“Drop Shot” medal is no longer awarded after standing back up.
Players can now copy a custom class to the extra prestige slot.


Gameplay Balancing

The following is a list of numerous gameplay balancing tweaks that were made after thorough review of statistical data from usage patterns of weapons, equipment, perks and scorestreaks since launch.

Scorestreaks:
UAV: cost increased from 350 to 425.
Lightning Strike: added 750ms delay


Equipment/Grenades:
Bouncing Betty: increased the grace period between trigger and activation by 200ms.
Sensor Grenade: increased the range (now 1000 units), frequency (now 800ms between pings), and amount of time (now 6s) that players appear after explosion.
Concussion Grenade: decreased movement penalty and turn speed penalty when hit.


SMGs:
All: increased hip fire recoil.
All: increased max hip fire spread from 4.75 to 5.
All: reduced bullet penetration.
MSMC: increased recoil slightly.
PDW-57: increased recoil slightly.

Assault Rifles:
All: reduced idle sway for more reliable long-range aiming.
XM8: reduced lethal range of 3-hit kills from 250 to 50 inches.
XM8 + Select Fire: increased recoil.
FAL OSW + Select Fire: increased recoil.
SWAT-556 + Select Fire: increased recoil.
MTAR: Made auto aim values consistent with all other assault rifles.

Sniper Rifles:
All: increased hip fire spread.
All + Laser Sight: increased hip fire spread.
XPR-50: increased recoil slightly.


Shotguns:
R870: reduced one-hit kill range by 45 inches.


Pistols:
B23R: reduced headshot multiplier from 1.4 to 1.
KAP-40: reduced headshot multiplier from 1.4 to 1

I only see host migration now when the host leaves the game, I don't see it happening mid game anymore with no one leaving.

I was starting to like the game at times. Now the FAL select fire has increased recoil. Now I hate the game.

Just kidding - I think everyone knew that was going to happen. Just don't fvck with my M27.

Kinda wish they didn't do that to Lightning Strike, though. It was that one KS you could rely on for instant effects such as clearing out a point. I also gotta admit that I'm disappointed the bouncing betties have a longer delay before triggering. However, I'm hoping that maybe the change they're making to all AR's will make the M27 feel more like the G36 for picking people off at longer ranges.

I still think something happens to make me suck much more at this game later in the evening than earlier. When I play early (like 4-5ish) with Jammy, I tend to do well. Last night, I did well earlier (like 8-9 or so), but then for the last 2 hours or so, suddenly I sucked. Oh well. Good games either way, everyone.

They have to increase the recoil A LOT on the FAL for it to really matter....it'll probably still be the most accurate. I doubt the AR sway reduction will matter either, cause there's almost none to begin with.

All in all these seem like very minor tweaks.

Interesting list of updates. I wonder what the r870 one hit kill range was before the update. I rarely used shotguns in previous CoDs, but I've definitely had fun with the 870 on Hijacked. Nice to see them at least working to improve balance. Hopefully the next update addresses lag in some manner.

Oh, you mean....the m27? My neurosis about using every gun equally means I end up using the damn thing even though I hate it. It keeps getting me killed in close quarters, its slow and its weak. My K/D with most ARs is like 1.1, with the m27 its like .7. Defensively I guess it's ok because it's accurate, but id rather have an LMG in that case.

I get bent over with everything though. My addiction to the fast hands tac insert gives me the opportunity to rack up an impressive amount of deaths if my team doesn't have my back.

Interesting - I tend to use them all for a bit until I find the ones that feel best for my play style, then stick with those.

On a separate note, I wish you could filter stats into the last week/month/etc like you could in MW3. I'd be curious to see how much better my stats are in the past couple weeks since I've found a couple different guns I enjoy.

Yeah....I'm tempted to erase all my stats for that reason. The first month is always brutal on your stats.

Hey, when real lightning strikes you have some time to find cover after your hair stands on end before it hits you so the added 750ms in Black Ops 2 is on point. Currently in Black Ops 2 it's: Incoming lightning...YOU'RE DEAD...strike!! You just got learned. tongue.gif

The 360 patch is supposed to be this weekend so nothing should have changed with the FAL just yet. You were probably on the wrong side of the lag last night.

All those updates and I don't see anything for lag issues? WTF? Are they even listening to what people are having the most issues with? Also, the only spawn tweak is related to turrets? I hate to be Debbie Downer, but am I the only one a bit miffed that they are fixing stuff like Livestreaming but ignoring real and legitimately game experience changing things like lag issues and poor spawning?

I do give them MEGA PROPS for trying to nerf and thus move people away from, SMG's and Sniper Rifles. Hopefully the community will distribute the gun usage a bit more evenly.

I'm sure the vast majority of the community will echo that sentiment.

It's kind of ridiculous that they haven't addressed it yet. I don't think they realize how deep the discontent really goes. They need to communicate way, way better than this.

If there's nothing left for them to improve upon, if they've really hit the physical limits on it, they need to roll their network engineer out and explain to people wtf is going on.
