Mach 5 FTW 21" Build thread

So with these drivers hitting the streets very soon, post up some build ideas for this driver, sealed, ported, horn what ever your thinking.

I've got my 2 cabs already built and just waiting for drivers. 6 cubic feet each and will be powered by a ep4000 bridged each.

What are some of you thinking for builds?

I'm going with two sealed 24.5x23x23 inch boxes for my Mal-X 21's.

I'm also really thinking of getting an LG clone with all the talk about how powerful they are and given their low price.

Each 21" is basically the same surface area as four and a half 10's, so porting it is going to need a massively huge box to avoid chuffing.

I reckon you would need a 30 cu ft box tuned to 13hz with 1500 watts.

Two off them would give you 124db at 14hz.

Two 9 cu ft sealed boxes would give you 114db at the same frequency with 2000 watts each box.

That is still almost 110db at 10hz with two smallish sealed boxes and only two ep4000 amps to run them. Not bad at all.

That is something that I am thinking about. Just need to find out how much the shipping would be to the UK.

It won't be cheap that's for sure

I am planning to source a local carpenter to build me a box for the sub. I am planning to use this in sealed box. What would be the volume of box I would need for the sub to have good output down to 20hz in approx 2600cu.ft. room? I am planning to use Crown XLS1000 in 4ohm bridged mode(1100watts).
Thanks,

I am just making four sealed sonotube enclosures at about 9 cubic feet each powered by an XLS5000.
