Is there a way to check if online pass is used without redeeming it?

I have a couple PS Vita games that have online passes. I bought these games used, from other Vita owners, that claim that they never used the online pass. Of course, I don't know for sure if that's the case. If I decide to put one of these games on Ebay, and claim that the online pass has never been used, when it in fact has been used, then I'll get screwed with a paypal chargeback, negative feedback, etc, etc.

Is there a way, for me to check if an online pass is unused, without committing to using it on my PSN account ? If I ever plan to sell the game, I'd rather not use the online pass. I might still end up using the online pass, and just keep the game for a very long time, but I'd like to keep my options open for now.

I asked this question on another forum, and this one dude was saying that after you enter the code, it will show a new screen, and you can tell if the code is valid, and it asks you if you want to proceed, and at that point, you can hit circle and back out, and not lock it down to your PSN account.

Since I have two copies of Wipeout 2048, and one of them I'm keeping and want to use the online code with, I'm going to try it out and see what happens. I'll see if I can still back out of it, before finalizing it.

The first Wipeout 2048 that I got, the invalid code message came up. I went thru the process on my PS3. At that time, I didn't know if the code would be valid or invalid. Since then, I got another Wipeout 2048, and I went thru the same process on the PS3, and it gave me the "agree to the terms" type page before proceeding that you were talking about.

That code was good, and I could have locked it in to my PSN account if I had proceeded one step further. I had to advance to one more screen before it was locked down to my account.


If it changes with misc. games, that kinda sucks. I need to try the same thing with Hot Shots Golf and MLB 20 The Show. If it locks to my account, so be it, both of those games are awesome and I plan to keep them long term anyways. Sure, the resale value will be killed later on down the line, but I only paid 20 bones for each of them, so it's not anything to cry about.
