Epson 6010 auto detect 3D problems

Hi Everyone,

When I play a 3d bluray the projector auto-detects and switches into 3d and the correct mode and everything. Just turn glasses on and wathc. When I turn 3d bluray player off. Projector goes back to normal.

When I select a 3D channel of off cable tv (which is either SBS or overunder), it does not auto detect, I must manually go in and set it to the correct one and it works. then after the show, I must go back and set it to auto and it goes to no 3d mode.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a normal issue with a Brighthouse scientific atlanta cable box?

any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

The 5010 is the same. Must be manually selected (SBS) to watch Directv 3D as you described and returned to AUTO.

My 5010 does auto detect DirecTV 3D. I never have to change any settings.

My DirecTV DVR is connected to an Onkyo TX-NR709 which outputs to the 5010.

Forget what I wrote (Senior Moment) it does do AUTO. I guess I was thinking of the Roku.
