ok now I have questions.
2 weeks ago I bought a samsung 40" led tv,, no problems, liked it in fact until I saw the store had a 3d tv for the same price. so I exchanged it... then the trouble started.
2nd tv, had the dreaded soap opera effect. no way around it, couldn't change any settings ( basic tv) HATED HATED HATED it.
so called store,, well, yea maybe, since it was a budget tv, ( hisense) that who knows how they were built.
soooo took it back, decide to buy the LG 42LM6200 . but none in store to see what it looked like,, & told the guy anyway, how can you tell what the tvs look like when all you play is HGTV???
told him I will be really ticked off, if this gives me that same effect.
checked amazon reviews, pretty much said great tv.
then finally came here & saw stuff about the SOE,,, arrghhhhhh
seems not a problem with the 65",( they have a spot in the setup to change it) , but problem with the smaller sets?
ok, so as not to talk apples & oranges.
is the SOE effect brought on by
or something else??
& someone said if you don't do the UPDATE it will stay at 60hz.
so, can I NOT do the update & be ok? or is it automatic when set is turned on?
or are the newest sets already configured for it? ( the lg website really touts the 120hz trumotion)
does anyone know if the smaller sets ( like the 42") have a setting option to turn it OFF??
I know hubby cannot stand the SOE & I'd really truely love to keep a 3d set.
btw, we have 4 other HD sets in the house, & none have this problem.. is it a 3d tv thing?
(oh btw, tv is being delivered tomorrow, store screwed up with telling me they had it in stock, so are delivering it for free.)
