Cool, I will do some research today and report back on any findings.

So Yamaha says that the XP series has measured power from 20hz-20khz, but also has processing that enables a hpf at 55hz, 20hz or off mode. I would assume off is no filter and would allow playing below 20hz, but will have to do some research to see if anyone has commented on the output below 20. It does say after that 12db/octave, so I guess it would be down 12db at 10hz. If a system was capable of 130db at 20hz, one could eq and get fairly flat around 120db to 10hz in theory

Look at the KLR series from Ashly, they corner at 3hz and are very quiet. They come in 4 power levels, 2kw, 3.2kw, 4kw, 5kw.

Much in agreement with what everyone has been saying, Scott @ficar stated that much more than the 275w will possibly hit mech limits at the lowest frequencies during enthusiastic playback. Outside of coming across something jsut as good, but with no fan noise, I think I will be ordering 8x18s from Scott and two EP4ks in the next week or so. Thanks to all for the help, and I will begin a new thread with the build detail/pics once I get it started. As always, any additional comments are certainly welcome
