The Usher's getting 150W@4 from? Big sound, small clean system. And yes I dare you to do a blindtest against big receivers or amps

Very interesting, Veda. Can you tell us more?

I really like the console as well.

More explanation would have been welcome.

Yes, I'm getting on that

The speakers are hooked to the el cheapo direct shipped from China Amphony 200 micro amp that's churning out 40W@8 per channel. It's on image #3. Still falls short of the REQUIRED 50W/ch for the Be-718's but the result in the overly large first floor / living room is satisfying to say the least. That makes it even more impressive for such a little thing to create a clean sound that's still somewhat dynamic. I bet, people would believe it if I tell them they're hooked to a small high end integrated amp. Very interesting product that allows for clean installation for let's say a desktop or office system but doesn't skimp on true performance.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going to get one of these to replace a parasound zone amp in my kitchen. +2000% WAF.

What's the source? Is there a pre amp?

The product would make an interesting monoblock solution at $70 per channel. It's hard to get that low with even the cheapest pro amp I know of, but the pro amps would more than double it's power...I think.

It's not quite as compact as you might first think, because it needs an external power supply (which they do provide.) So that would make the AC wiring a bit painful, depending on what the AC adpater is like (is it a wall wart?)

That all being said, an interesting concept for sure.

Direct stereo RCA out from the CD player. There's a vol switch on the Amphony so yea if you want to change the vol you have to bend over to the back of the cabinet and do it manually. Small setback as for the living room I don't do critical listening. Just put the CD and press play... At normal listening level with the super inefficient Be-718 speakers, I'm at 60% volume.

Its powersupply looks like a blackberry charger and similarly sized (the amp is as big as a bb as well). I think depending on where the shipping address is they send the powersupply with the appropriate locale outlet prong.

Just check out the pics here: http://amphony.com/products/mini-amplifier.htm
