This happens to me as well once in a while. I have a Panasonic SC-HTB550
plugged into the TV's HDMI 2 (ARC) and the it will switch back over to TV audio typically if I have something paused for a long time. This seems ridiculous to me since I have the TV's speakers disabled. I'm thinking it's an issue with the HDMI settings where the TV can turn off unused devices, but I haven't found the solution after changing a few of those settings.
I'm not sure if it only happens when I pause while using an app, like Netflix, or if it occurs when pausing a DLNA stream or even just muting over-the-air antenna TV.
Edit: I too hear buzz from the back when speakers are muted and a bright image is on the screen. I really only noticed it during my panel prep, so it must not be bad enough to annoy me during normal operation.Edited by one321 - 12/11/12 at 1:05pm
