I saw exactly what Chad mentioned. I had to turn the Color setting down a bit more with Wide compared to Normal. While it required more 2-pt adjustment the result was a lower average dE and more consistent greyscale, gamma, and color temperature.
The Viera Connect night config makes sense and I'd imagine more people are in that boat anyway.
I imagine that adjusting the comparable color settings for the VT50 would be a bit more challenging, especially considering the increased quantity of adjustments. It's one of those times where if it isn't broken, don't fix it
