Soundbar options for older Panny Pro

I upgraded my living room display and want to relocate my speaker-less panny pro plasma (50PH10UKA) to my bedroom. It uses push-in speaker wire terminals (6ohm) on each side for the optional panny side mounted speakers (SP50P8W), has no optical/analog audio out.

Would any of the newer 2.1 soundbars work with this setup? All of my components are located elsewhere in a central media closet controlled with RF, so connecting to a bluray/avr is not an option. I saw panny soundbars had an HDMI arc setup option but doubt either of my HDMI ports accept this. Dont see value in spending $300+ for the panny side mounts, and hoping i had better options than mounting 2 bookshelf speakers above it.

Thanks

Forgot to mention, the feed is a single HDMI from my media closet AVR. So, might something like a sony CT150 work... HDMI to sound bar to TV, or is optical and/or ARC required to do this? Im more than ok with bypassing the TVs audio features.

You are definitely better off bypassing your TV audio and using HDMI > Soundbar > TV

Any HDMI capable soundbar would work including the Sony CT150. The CT150 will sound MUCH better than the Panny side mount speakers.

I just went with the Vizio VSB206 for my 42" Panny. You would be better off with a 3.1 system vs. A soundbar.

Thanks Guys, for some reason I thought I read in one of the online sony manuals that they required the optical toslink in addition to the HDMI, which didn't make sense to me either...

Hear ya on the 3.1, its for a small bedroom and im sick of fishing wire in the attic I already have a kef 5.1 in the living room and 7.2 in my theater room

There may be a Soundbar option out there for 3.1.
