Just finished the first episode. Fast, paced barnburner. Lot of potential IMHO.

Was a bit slow for much of this 1st episode, came on VERY strong. I have high hopes for it.

Interesting, I thought it moved quickly.

Slow as in not much action or scandal going on. When she kicked it into high gear and started using her power, it was GREAT. I guess you and I are the only ones that watched it.

Guess this will be the shortest thread in AVS history.

No way, I am not giving up. You and I can bring this thread into greatness, once people realize we found a good show, (knock on wood) they will join us.

Because of the very lukewarm review USA TODAY gave this show, I was not going to bother with it. However, you two guys have talked me into giving it a try.

I just watched the DVR of it last night and was pretty impressed. The last 15 minutes were "worth the price of admission." I sure didn't see THAT coming. Looks like I'll keep watching The Mentalist and DVRing this one. Not bad at all.

Deleted it after 25 minutes not for me but for those who like it I hope it stays

I really wanted to catch this but already had 2 things programmed to record and for whatever reason ABC decided to not repeat the pilot after the initial broadcast Sure they can repeat the Pilots of other shows on Saturday night but not this one If I can't catch the pilot I don't bother with the program and no, I won't watch it on my computer.
Really stupid IMO to invest money and advertising on a pilot and not re-air it on a dead night, especially when the initial airing is on Thursday night against other proven programs....oh well, lots of other programs to watch.

I honestly think Scandal has what it takes to be a really successful show, however there appears to be a scandal involving the main character which IMHO just throws the show off a little bit, but we shall see...

To each his own, I guess.

The more successful Shonda Rhimes is, the more she incorporates her political views into her shows. I'll pass on this.

You absolutely hit the nail on the head. As promised earlier, I watched this piece of garbage hoping to be entertained. I wasn't entertained; I was offended. If I want political commentary, I will watched the news programs of which there are many.

Please excuse the rant.

premiere was repeated last Monday at 10, in Castle's slot.

If the episodes don't improve a lot, the season pass will be deleted soon.
Well after missing the pilot I was able to record and watch the second episode(missed the last minute repeat of the pilot). While I didn't really dislike the 2nd episode it just wasn't my cup of tea, I'll skip the season pass but hope it sticks for those of you like it. Lots worse on TV thats for sure.

Somehow I recorded another episode of this show and halfway through I couldn't take it anymore and deleted it. Only after finding this thread again did I realize I had sworn off it

ABC's Scandal' Renewed, GCB' Canceled
By Nellie Andreeva, Deadline.com - May 11, 2012

ABC's two bubble midseason drama series are heading in opposite directiosn. Shonda Rhimes' Scandal is being renewed for a second season, while GCB is being canceled. (ABC's third midseason drama River, has been dead for awhile.)

Veteran Private Practice also is expected to get a renewal for what will likely be the series' final season though that is not official yet. I hear complicating the negotiations is the fact that Mark Gordon, who produces the series, is also behind the drama pilot Americana, which is at the center of heated talks after word got out that ABC was passing on it. Yesterday, NBC renewed the Dick Wolf-produced veteran crime drama Law & Order: SVU along with a series pickup of the producer's pilot Chicago Fire.

Henry Ian Cusick Not Returning to 'Scandal' for 2nd Season
By Tim Kenneally, TheWrap.com - Jun. 8, 2012

Henry Ian Cusick is done being "Scandal"-ized.

"Lost" alum Cusick will not return to ABC's drama "Scandal" for its second season, TheWrap has confirmed.

On the Shonda Rhimes-created series -- which stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a former White House communications director who goes into private practice with a crisis-management firm -- Cusick played Stephen Finch, a womanizing employee of Pope's.

No word on how Finch's character will be handled -- or not handled -- in the show's second season.

Cusick's upcoming projects include the upcoming thriller "The Girl on the Train" about a documentary filmmaker whose life takes a dramatic turn after a chance encounter with a mysterious woman.

Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
