They are the same projector. The japanese TH-AE100 version is not maked for any voltage but works fine under US standard. I'm not sure about 220v but I believe it is a univeral power supply.

Didn't mean for it to come out like that. I guess i wrote that after i read some comments that David Bott made about how the same questions get asked over, and over.....So it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.
