Savages - Oliver stone film - Page 2

Finally saw it a week or two ago. The book did turn out to not be adequately filmable in the traditional 2-2 1/2 hour format. Just another mediocre drug-based shoot 'em up.

And Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
the book ended with the first ending, not the stupid happy ending (though certain cynical aspects of that ending did have their pros). But one of the things that made the book haunting was the tragic death of all involved, and O's preference for death rather than life without Chon and Ben.

Plus Taylor Kitsch contributed greatly to the crashing and burning of John Carter and did this film no favors either. The only person who gave it much depth was Salma Hayek.

I agree with all this.
