Raising Arizona - nice surprise

I watched this last night and was very impressed. Clearly a brand new scan with no perceivable DNR or excessive sharpening. Very film-like look as grain was very well maintained and handled. There are some soft shots, but clearly from the photography. However, it was like seeing this movie for the first time as every home presentation I've seen up to this point looked quite poor.

Oh, one of Coen Brother's very best movies as well!

I was amazed too.
It really looks terrific (and sounds pretty good).

Now if we could get a new Fargo, and Barton Fink, I would be happier than boo.

I totally agree, this BD looks almost shockingly good. Very film like. And yes, I deeply wish FARGO looked this nice as well.

The film looked great when broadcasted on HD several years ago. Not so sure it's 'brand new'.

The transfer is from 2009 and it was supervised/approved by Coens. Same goes for Miller's Crossing.
