eq max 12?

I have been doing some research and asking many questions, for 500 which is my budget. I can come away with an eq max 12 for that price, couldn't find a eq 15 within my 500 budget, will this be satisfactory for 11x10 room, I like deep bass and not boomy or muffled like the sw450 I had, is this a solid choice and price for this sub guys and will it outperform my Klipsch sw 450?

Just wanted to get some feedback on this sub before I pull the trigger, I seen the audioholics review which had nothing but good things to say about it however they reviewed the 15 not the 12 so I was wondering if any had the 12 version or any knowledge about it in relation to what my expectations should be?

Based on the Eq 15 the 12 isn't going to get below 30hz. For $500 the Rythmik FV12 or Epik Legend or either of the Cadence 12 or the 15 would be better.

I am mainly a movie guy and they I was told movies mostly only go down to about 30hz which is why this would be a good fit, any thoughts on this?

They are wrong. 30hz might be good for a lot of music but not for film, try 20hz at a min.

So which of those subs do you think is best, which would you go with and why, can you post a link of the one you think is a solid pick. I just liked the eq mic and remote for the eq 12, do either of these come with the same tuning options and are those items important?

+1. Also, a used SVS PB10-NSD or, if you score a really good find, a used PB12-NSD.

If you have a receiver with decent auto calibration, you may find the extra features of the Velo are not needed. While The Rythmik or Epik may lack the presets or remote control of the EQ Max, They will perform better with a more linear, deeper bass extension and a tighter overall sound.

Which is more importaant to you?

You an flip a coin and get either one of those two and know that you have gotten an excellent sub for the money.
