disc error problem

I have a marantz cc4001 cd player, and every time I put a different cd in, it says disc error. What's the deal? I may try to get it fixed somewhere, I haven't had an expert look at it yet.

Unfortunately it probably requires service if it does this with most discs.

Could be something as simple as a VERY dirty laser lense, but it's doubtful. How old is it? Does it have Marantz's standard 3-year warranty?

It was the laser lense. I bought a cd laser lense cleaner, and now it works! Keepin my fingers crossed.
