Stand for Mitsubishi 92" (WD-92840)

Might wanna search that thread but I think most have had a custom stand built.

Take a look at the Valencia 79 from Plateau Corp., at $1499.99. The top shelf of the Valencia 79 is only 13" in height (the 21.5" that's specified on the Plateau website is overall height, measured to the top of the raised back panel), so it centers you on the screen better than most A/V furniture.

Having dealt with Plateau in getting my unit and helping a few friends, if the specs are what you seek, before you buy on the web, give Plateau a call directly and ask them if they have any seconds(blemished units). You may be limited on models and colors, but you can save up to 75% off of RETAIL posted price. The units for myself and friends were very good cosmetically with maybe a rub on an edge or corner, that was 'touched-up, etc. Great deals if you are willing to accept a less than perfect unit to their standards and save mucha money.

I own the Valencia 5187, it doesn't fit your requirements, but I like how it's expandable to accommodate even the 92" MITS'. Nice Darken glass drawers, quality hinges, heavy duty built. I and friends are very satisfied with their products and deals.

I just got 92840 for clearance price. Need recommendation on a stand. I don't have $1500 to burn on it though.

BELL'o NT2147 looks good and price is good too. But 18" is higher than I prefer.

Just got my Bello NT2147 glass stand from Amaz_n since no one in town had one in stock at any price. Besides saving tax, the free shipping knocked a $100 off but took a long time.

Someone in forum posted pictures on another thread. At about 7 feet wide (83") matches this TV and will fit 4 components side by side and does not have a center support on the front, which was important for my huge SVS center speaker. As far as hight goes, 18" fits all my stuff underneath, & actually lowered my 92" Mit 3& 1/2" from the BBuy narrower glass stand I was using. Very happy with it due to $, looks, capacity and cooling. Rated at 200# on top shelf and 100# on bottom. $536 well spent.

Nope, you are both wrong. But that is due to my not mentioning that total price included 4 pairs of universal active Xpand X103 3D glasses, so you are forgiven.

The stand itself was a great price at the time of order of under $360, and the glasses were a little more than half of some sellers who still want $80/pair. Just did a search on Am_zon and offered for less than $40/pair NOW.

Don't feel bad or try to start a pissing contest. You (like all humans) have made more mistakes than you can remember or know about. At least some are paying attention in here!

Maybe we all here would be better served by being constructive and helpful rather than critical.

Bottom line: the customer (who is always correct, as they say), that would be me, is happy and satisfied with his purchase, end of story / debate.

Like a lot of Folks i used a Coffee table that's been in our family for some time...
It's 14" tall and holds the 92" nicely
I have a couple of older Stereo cabinets to chose from

Then i found out today that BB techs don't want/like to calibrate Mits DLP's , which is a surprise & bummer.
Which is probably Okay since i wasn't overly impressed with the Calibration that i watched..

I think stand height should not be greater than 15" because TV screen (actual screen subtracting the based stand) itself 9'' higher. So 12'' + 9" = 21" is perfect height for this big TV and i believe any higher than 24" inch might see some trouble in viewing angles and shadow if you have 840 series like i have 92840.

I made mine with less than $300 and you can make one yourself by going to IKEA and if you search 2011 740/840 thread you will find picture with the wheel on it.

I have my 92840 on a 15" stand and it is definitely a compromise. Since I just blew through my 2012 AV budget with a Darblet and a Lumagen Radience XS with 125 point autocal the 10 to 12" stand will have to wait till spring. I am going to custom build something that is much more functional than anything else. I will probably not have a bottom shelf and put my components directly on the floor. This should allow me to have my center under the display as I do now. You give up a good bit of color saturation and brightness when you get off axis. There is definitely a sweet spot at the screen's center.

Speaking of off/on axis viewing, just put both my RP TVs (67" and 92") on 15" diameter swiveling turntables. Took 3 of us, 2 lifting, and 1 to slide swivels under TV base (yep, I can image your jokes now...how many does it take to...). But very happy of ability to make optimal angle with 1 finger rotating TVs.

Now waiting on the stick-on LED multi color backlights to arrive for both, and home theaters will be complete until I discover something else really cool that I can't live without.
