I'm looking at this Samsung plasma and I'm wondering what everyone else thinks about it. I don't know much about televisions. I was looking at Samsung's LED televisions, but they were a little pricier and I could only afford their 46".
I saw this plasma while browsing at Fry's and was shocked at the price. It's a big jump for a 46" to a 59".
Are there any drawbacks to getting this somewhat older television (2011)? I've read about certain amount of buzzing, but I imagine it can't be an louder than an Xbox 360 (the audio noise from whatever program or videogame drowns it out).
And is it true that all new televisions (plasma, LCD, LED) have a much shorter lifespan that old CRT? Don't be surprised if you need to replace them within a year. I imagine it makes sense to purchase at a store and get a warranty then rather than purchasing online.
