Got my elgato device, gamecatcher hd. It records in 720p, so now i can time shift directly to a mac mini.

which app are you looking for? I got the TVpad app from Club TVpad. He posted it on his facebook page. And can you give us a little more info how the elcato device works with the TVpad? Is it pretty easy to setup?

The so called TVB app, actually is the QuickLook Cantonese, so I got that . Elgato's GameCapture HD is plug and play, but it works only with Mac, and video editing is so easy, just like imovie.It costs $180 from amazon.com.
NOt sure there is a PC device that will record through HDMI.

I got the tvpad a few months ago and recently installed it with the updated software. In some movie, it streams every few seconds, it took me 2 days to watch a two hrs movie. Frustrating, do anyone have similar problems? Any suggestions ?

if you upgraded from 2.62 or lower to 2.72. You will need to uninstalled the old movie valley and reinstall the new movie valley for 2.72 firmware. Good luck!

Thank you for the info. I just checked and under system info,my tvpad version is 2.62 and model is 120. When I try to upgrade, it tells me that my version is up today and no available upgrade. Is there a newer version as you stated 2.72. Where can I get that version or my 2.62 is okay? Also, how do you un-install? And not sure what do you mean by movie valley? Is it an option on the screen with the green play button?

I do not see any options under settings allow me to uninstall. There is a reset option but I think it basically goes back to factory settings. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

I just found out how to uninstall. Also I noticed that it seems the 2.72 firmware seems to be for m121. If mine is m120, should I still upgrade to 2.72? If I need to upgrade the firmware, can you recommendated a Site where I can get the download? Thanks

I went into tvpadsfan.com and find out the Site for 2.72 firmware and did the upgrade after uninstall movie valley.
I assume it is the icon with the green play arrow. Then after the upgrade and reboot, I reinstalled "movie valley"

I will checkout tomorrow to see if this will help speed up the streaming or buffering issue.

I tried after the upgrade, there is not much different, still. Movies pause every seconds sometimes, especially the popular Chinese movies.
But sometimes it play several minutes smoothly,there is no pattern that the tvpad stop playing the movie and display streaming %.
Annoying to watch.

wondering if you know anything about tvpad in regard using wifi
I got the new one, but unable to get wifi on....its telling me no lan card?

do u recommend a usb wifi....?

Not all wifi adapters work with tvpad. From tvpad fan forum and club tvpad postings, only some adapters with rt3070 chipsets will work. good luck.

I just got around to update to 2.7. It's good to know a FAT32 formatted USB drive will work. The new TVB specific app is nice.

Hi, I just bought this box. However, my TV seems out of date. It's not a HDTV and has no HDMI connection. When I connected TVPad to the TV using regular cable, it's all black and white. My question: Does this box require HDTV? Thanks.

TVpad is defaulted to HDMI output. In order for you to switch to AV mode. You need to connect the device to an HDMI TV and go to video settings and switch to AV and change the PAL settings to NTSC. Others will also tell you that you can press F1 twice to switch the video mode. But then it will be in PAL mode and not NTSC so you won't be able to do anything. So I suggest taking the tvpad to a friends house to make the changes. Good luck!

Both tvpadzone.com and clubtvpad.com are great sources for app downloads. Club TVpad has the 2nd release of TVB app that tvpadzones don't have yet. So pick your poison.

Nope! All channels work fine for me. You can try reinstalling the apps or resetting your tvpad back to factory default.

I take that back. there is a lip-sync issue in one of the episodes I watched in the TVB app. However, it's not a TVpad hardware issue. It seems to be the source that is having that issue and only having this problem with only one episode leads me to believe it's just that file. Other episodes seems to be fine.

Did anyone try the new custom app that allows you to play korean TVpad apps? You can download it here:

It's in the hacking section. Courtesy to Phantoman from the PA forum.

Now you don't have to buy the Korean version of TVpad to watch Korean shows.
