After that, the product must be backed up by great customer service when necessary and a low failure rate. This shouldn't be too difficult a task. If it's a monetary issue, it seems as if it wouldn't be too difficult to get an investor to help out.

It's the realistic time frame that is my biggest concern at the moment. It has been 5 weeks and 3 day since I placed my order and the scheduled delivery date has changed about 4 times now.

Now they are saying that it is ready just waiting on a freight broker??? But, my account page shows that my sub is still in production, so I don't know.

If you're not happy with your service, just cancel your order. Buy from another ID company who has subs in stock. You won't get as much bang for the buck, IMO, but at least you'll get it when you expect it as that is very important to you. Good luck.

LOL! Maybe we can get Peter the investor to pay Paul!

This is in no way ment to offend anyone. But I can't help but think some of the huge custom orders they have had placed don't set orders like the OPs behind. Good things come to those who wait but in this case all he wants is is a sub and can't get a straight answer. They can have the best product on the planet and it doesn't matter if people cancel and purchase elsewhere because the story keeps changing. I know they are working hard to stock stuff and that would be great for all of us.

I don't think they'd have to work "hard" to stock stuff... I think they would need more capital to stock stuff. If they are waiting on a johnson rod to put together a sub, why not buy a few extra so they aren't always waiting for parts? Capital.

I may be way off on this, but my understanding is several top tier 18inch drivers from a lot of ID manufacturers use the same basket. It's a certain part (i believe it's the basket itself) that's so hard to get a hold of.

I ordered 2 subwoofer isolation pads in November 2011. I received one 3 weeks after that.....the other, 2 weeks ago. That's 5 freaking months! And on top of that, the foam on the second one isn't the same pattern as the first, so the sub pads will not match each other.

DO NO BUY FROM THESE GUYS!

Great news, my A7-350 was shipped yesterday, so hopefully I will receive it early next week. They did throw in an isolation pad to help make up for the delays, although it did not ship yet. Hopefully it does not take 5 months like ParanoidDroids did.

Ohh, you're just over reacting... you're just very impatient and you complain too much... don't you know that good things happen to those who wait? the second one isn't the same pattern? don't worry about it. just turn Audyssey off and you will be fine.

I currently have in the past and have currently used eD products. Since my order last year (09/30/11), the customer service has deteriorate noticeably to the point that even though their products are usually good, it is no longer worth doing business with them.

I cannot believe a word that comes out of Alex's mouth nor any of his associates. We had an order we place on Sept. 30th 2011 for a custom sealed enclosure, a standard 0.3cF enclosure for the e3.8 as well as the e3.8. Our card was billed about a week after and the order wasn't received in our warehouse until about 8 weeks later.

That was not so much the issue as the e3.8 speaker was making a tapping sound during operations. Initial contact for troubleshooting was helpful, but did not cure the defect. I can provide details, but all in all after two returns, repeated e-mails, phone calls, and online chats we have yet to receive a credit on our card or a refund in the form of a check as promised.

They have managed to stretch the process to 6 months later, so much that it has obviously left a bad taste in our mouth, and for a company we use to vouch for, we can no longer in good faith. A sign of a good company is one that not only has great products, but also provides proper support and is good on their word.

I wonder why all the A7-450 and 900 guys have nothing but good to say about ED. Maybe you just have to spend more than $1500.00 to not have issues and get there product in a timely manner. I hope this doesnt rub anyone the wrong way but it seems to be the trend.

+1

Seems like if your good friends with Alex and a ED forum regular you get top notch products in a decent time frame, plus customer service that goes above and beyond in service. But if you an average consumer who just wants a subwoofer you get put on the back burner and/or have to fight to get any information about shipping, warranty issues, have your emails return.

I disagree, but it's almost a moot point for me to try to discuss my opinion when there are some people here who are resigned to a particular negative mode of thought (some rightfully so), and are at the ready to troll anything positive that someone may have to say in regards to eD. But anyway, here are my points:
It is not my job to sway someone's opinion. I am just a consumer (like you) who just happened to have had a different experience from you. That's it.
My sub wasn't delivered in a timely manner. Took about 7 weeks.
I am treated like a normal customer by eD. Just because I got a 450 does not mean that I am treated any differently than someone who bought a 200. So the statement about priority shipping or VIP treatment is completely untrue.

Just seems like random folks get longer delays. I remember that story about the guy who tried chatting with eD for info on his order but they wouldn't respond till he pretended to be another consumer. Bit odd I'd say but either way I would stay try my luck with eD if I wanted a custom enclosure.

I had issues with an order for a driver where a few weeks turned into months and they kept changing the expected ship date. I ended up canceling and buying something different. In my case my card was never charged.

If they are charging customers cards and then not providing quick refunds when someone cancels, and they are not communicating with people my guess would be that they are having cash flow issues and they are using orders in the pipeline to fund ongoing business.

Took 8 weeks to get a 1.3cuft plain EFS enclosure for a 13av.2. Excuses kept changing everytime I asked about it, when I could get a response.

It was labeled instock at the time.

Alex didn't know what was wrong but will find out and get back with me....never happened.

Blamed it on the shop manager

Week 3: Its next in line for the cnc machine and will ship this week.

Week goes by, nothing no tracking number, no email, nothing.

Email to Alex again. He doesn't know whats going on and will check right now and call me back.

2 weeks later still nothing.

Got one excuse that it made it through the CNC machine but they don't know what they did with it so it has to be remade again

Week later threated with calling credit card company and report a fraud on my card.

Shipped out 2 days later.

Guess you have to threaten them to get your products that you paid for.

If they have it instock I got my stuff in less than a week, actually first order was 2 days early. If it's in production... it's probably going to be either 2x or 4x what they tell you, worth the wait though.
