Gonna pull the trigger on this 2.0 setup

Denon 1612 Receiver
Definitive Tech Studiomonitor 350's

Will this be good for movies etc? My main issue with my HTIB was that it is hard to hear voices even with the center +5 and the L/R at 0. Thanks!

What happened if you dropped the L/R to -5 and advanced the volume control to compensate?

Note that there are some NIB 350s on eBay right now for ca. $300.

Given that this system bottoms out with 8 inch drivers it is well below my requirements for decent bass for music or HT. However with an added 12" or larger sub...

I will try setting the L/R to -5 and see where I am. If I do get this new system I would probably add a bub sometime in the future. Problem is that I have a philips HT system and it seems like the only redeeming part is that it is a blu-ray. Thanks!

Just hooked everything up and so far so good...stupid question though...should the sub on the speaker be pointed inward toward the tv or outward...thanks

try it both ways...see what gives the best results. start with them pointing outwards...

That is how I have them...they sound pretty decent but I think I will need to tweak them. very clear though. Any suggestions for settings?
