Ford F150 Sony Nav

Hey gang,
I have a Ford F150 Platinum and I have the Sony Nav with the 700 watt sound system which it also has a sub. It sounds ok, but I would like to make some changes. I thought about changing out the tweeters in the frames around the windshield, but I would really like to put a new powered sub in. I have read that some guys are using polyfill to make the stock sub sound better, but I am looking for a little bit deeper bass. My question is, can I change out the factory sub and still pair it to the Sony Nav? I have seen some custom subs that fit the F150, but not sure about the wiring aspect. Thanks for any info.

If you can pull the factory subwoofer and determine its coil configuration, you can then better determine your options. Find out if its 8 ohm, 4 ohm, 2 ohm 1 ohm etc... Then try matching another sub to that.

Research Hoffman's Iron Law. Should give you a better understanding of what you are up against.
